That would certainty make things much easier, assuming it works properly. What difference did you notice when swapping to the Euro IAT? Last edited by tsk94; 11-12-2020 at 04:12 PM.. |

Yes, RSA only has to be done once; The very first thing. After that it is just the Program writing.
Low rpm tip in and throttle tip in for clutch engagement is smoother. Not sure if its peppier or faster(could be placebo). But even others who drive the car before/after without knowledge of the change said the same things. |

I noticed my car was a bit more responsive with the Mafless too. How big of a difference is it with the euro iat and the big bulky maf

My guess is not too much. Its still running off the MAF's IAT but the only difference is the restriction being removed |

I have the Euro IAT waiting to install, just need to send Bimmerlabs the $$ for the tune. I have had both parts in my hand; I have a difficult time believing there is more than a couple percent difference in airflow for NA MFA vs. IAT.

I'm not so sure, it felt different on the but dyno, but I assumed it was just placebo.
However, the difference in size is pretty significant. There is definitely a lot less surface area on the IAT - it's about the size of a pencil eraser, while the MAF is about the size of a small matchbox. I had a pic somewhere, but I can't find it. |

The difference is fairly significant. In relation to the bore of the intake boot it's going into, the standard MAF sensor is pretty massive compared to the IAT.

I believe they were supposedly like 30-40 bucks before desertman shared the part number and people started buying it and the price got raised lol. 70 bucks now it better make a bit of a difference at least

Nah. BMW raises prices all the time. I doubt demand from the handful of people running this tune is enough to budge the market even 1mm - that sensor was used in millions of cars. We're not even a drop in the bucket.

I'm still a bit confused on Step 3 from bimmerlabs. I don't have a separate E89 SP-Datens folder. I believe those are installed and updated as part of the Standard Tools setup, correct? I can see .prg files in C:\EDIABAS\EnglishEcu and I can see .ipo files in C:\NCSEXPER\SGDAT Are those the source paths to use in bimmerlabs, step 3? Can I assume that those are for E89? Otherwise, my INPA wouldn't work, right? Or shall I download E89 datens and point WinKFP to that extracted folder? |

I didn't delete the folders as per the instructions, and simply copied the new folders into the existing folders on my C drive like people said on page 7 of this thread. Do I need to do anything like it shows in step 3 if that's what I did? Do I need to import the files through WinKFP still? |

So, just download only E89.rar datens, extract to a folder and point WinKFP to those folders instead of EDIABAS and NCSEXPERT folder paths? |

Just did the swap over to the Maf-less tune and IAT this morning. Everything went well, tune is pretty straightforward to put on since I didn't need to RSA-delete as I already had the 130i tune on my car already.
Initially the car was running rough, but after idling for a few minutes everything smoothed out. Car drove great, throttle response seems better, but again could be placebo. Not sure if it's making more power but it felt strong. Next step is to get some headers and a custom tune from Bimmerlabs in the new year! |

I have a few questions:
1.) I have a laptop with all the tools installed already that I've been using, but I'm unsure about the deleted folders step and if my current software is ok to flash, is there anyway to check that? 2.) If not, i'll delete everything and will be doing a fresh install via the bimmergeeks download link. All I need to download is the standard tools and do a fresh install, right? Do I need to download the other link next to it "Sp-Datens?" 3.) I created a bimmerlabs account and got all the files I need in my project which is the rsa delete file and the 325xi to 330xi for my msv70. I just need to flash these two, correct? What's this other discussion about flashing transmission? Do I need to download another file and flash my transmission as well? I already indicated my last 7 of my vin and transmission type (6MT) on my project, would those 2 files in my project suffice or do I need to do separately flash the transmission too? |

I tried the RSA delete before having the folders set up correctly (noted by the lack of chassis selections in INPA start screen) and all it did was fail in the command screen. Car still worked fine after the failed RSA delete. If you have a standard transmission then there is no transmission flash necessary. |

My current laptop has all chassis selections in INPA start screen. Thanks for the confirmation on the transmission flash not being needed for my car. |
