About what, the fantastic plastic forgettable viper? You seem to just be about HP wars and quarter mile. I have friends that are really into that kind of racing and all the associated numbers, but none of that is relevant to the Z06 and it's purpose. You just don't get it, no matter how many times you say you do.

Go back and reread original post amino. Mr. FANBOI_m3 got butt hurt on me speaking to GMs own data. Then all I said the power to weight ratios is unimpressive comparatively speaking to other performance vehicles specific to this forum.

On edit:

And did you really just bring up Plastic? GM is the king of some of the shittiest quality materials in the US marketplace.

Agreed, the ZO6 was NEVER designed as a 1/4 mile car, rather for a track that has turns. Something that a Demon would never compete with it on.

So for the price of a tweaked out Demon one could build a car that would easily beat it in the 1/4 mile.

Exactly.

He says the z06 "only runs 10.6" yet has a car that does it slower in 10.7. And in a couple of months we shall see the new C8Z dip into the 6:5x time at the ring. But that's not good enough lol. Only the most ELITE FACTORY production cars can even see anything faster than 7:10. None of the cars he owns are anywhere near that time.

Says the M8 has a fantastic time of 7:32 at the ring, because of it's heavy weight, yet a C8 stingray, which is GM's entry level corvette ran a 7:29 with only 495hp @ 3700lbs, which is a pig in corvette standards. Also runs 11.1 thanks to it's amazing ME layout offering superior traction for a RWD car.

But i get it, he's insecure about all the attention this z06 is getting. It's not our fault GM built a better car than the ones he got lol.

And the car isn't even a drag car, it's a track car

Usually on these race engines, and this is an actual race engine, you can't really do things like that. You can idle it higher to warm it up but you can't just stab the throttle like that on cold start up. That's not recommended on ANY engine.

But the fact the engine can take that, and GM engineers aren't advising against it, just shows the engineering that went into the LT6.

There's a youtube video explaining in depth about the LT6 which is amazing if you're into that stuff. Personally i like knowing about the cars i own, and since i'm getting a C8Z end of next year, i love learning about this car.

I'm going for ceramic matrix gray, adrenaline red interior, black wheels and carbon flash exterior bits.

This looks insane!

It's all good man. Time flies these days.

It felt like yesterday when i first put my 2k deposit to get on the waiting list for the C8Z 2 years ago. Literally. I put the deposit back in fall of 2019. And look at us now, fall of 2021.

Only one more year to go and i can experience GM's final farewell to the GREATEST z06 ever made.

Why not buy a C7Z used in the meantime? They're incredible cars man. I don't think i can get rid of mine. Not until i see the C8Z at my house first, then i'll decide.

its not ideal for any engine to be revved up high when its cold. the oil has not warmed up enough to lubricate everything like it should. but its not a death sentence. i see people at car meets, who don't know how engines work, do it often to impress the crowd.

best way to warm up any car is just driving it normally. you don't want to just have the car sit and warm the engine and leave the trans cold when you set off and floor it.

these cars being posted are likely test/demo cars and ones that will be going to journalists.

The C8Z was announced about 2 weeks after I ordered my G82. I saw alot of the test mules running around, and I heard alot of the sound clips, and it definitely sounded flat plane crank. I just kind of fell out of love with everything else about it. I still love the G82, and I went with a super high spec to keep me from getting bored with it. But I may revisit the Z06, in the near future. Id like to drive one, and maybe that will have me leaning toward it, more.

Ever since the talks about a mid engine corvette back in 2014 (yes that long), i knew something was brewing. I been a corvette owner for about 20 years now so i followed and experienced the evolution from the C5 to now.

Once i saw the stingray debut in july 2019, i was like fuck, the new z06 must be insane. So when the book opened to get on the waiting list that fall, i got on it right away.

Then when they leaked the nurburgring videos i fell in love. This is GM's gift to us for those who love corvettes, those who appreciate evolution of a particular model, those who might not be fortunate enough to buy an actual supercar and gave us a corvette that is everything a supercar is, for a 1/3 of the price of an actual supercar.

And it's not half assed like the C7Z, which is still an incredible car, but the C8Z is a real deal supercar. And it is sad GM did this towards the very end, before going hybrid/EV but at least they did this for us fans.

I am very happy about how the C8Z turned out. What a time to be alive!

I cant stick to one car. Ive had 31 cars in 29 years. If Raquel Welch wants a ride, she can have one. I dont care if shes 80.

Come on man, the mid engine Corvette has been talked about for fifty years, granted the C8 configuration didn't become serious fonder until recently. As for the Sting Ray, it debuted in '63. For the record, Iv'e been a Corvette owner for over 45 years. Here's what an original 'Sting Ray' looks like .........

I meant the decision to finally do it.

Zora's dream was always to have a mid engine corvette. I was talking about GM's plan to actual do it. The engine made for the car was on the drawing board before they even decided it lol. They knew that exotic engine couldn't go into an FE platform. The only way, was to evolve the corvette into an ME platform.

The complexity of this engine really cannot be overstated, especially when you realize it is being made by a huge company in relatively large numbers. Just on the cylinder head, the porting of the intake and exhaust throats, inlets and FULLY MACHINED combustion chamber is a marvel at this price point. The mechanical valve train is truly a work of art as well. I have never been a big GM guy (only worked at the company a few years) and certainly never a big Corvette fan, but what they've done for the Z06 is truly remarkable.
Didn't see this post.

But that's awesome!

I think i watched about 10 different videos talking about the LT6 alone. People really don't understand about these things. They just coaching and criticizing the results without understanding any of it.

The LT4 was an after thought. Something botched together last second for the C7Z, i assume right after the "GM bankruptcy". At least that's what "forum insiders" are suggesting. Which makes sense.

The LT6 is an engineering masterpiece, that was known to go into a mid engine z06 no matter what.

GM gave us our porsche GT3 car, our ferrari 458, our mclaren if you will, AWD like traction, all in one amazing package, ALL FOR GM PRICING!

People can hate and talk shit all they want, they're the ones who will be drooling and jealous they don't have one. Which makes me wonder, maybe that's why they're hating? Because they found out they can't get on any dealer lists to get one, so they now have to wire their brain or brainwash themselves to hate the car LOL.
