First time Mercedes failed to reach Q3 with either car since the 2012 Japanese Grand Prix, a streak of 187 races.

That is true, the Ferrari is a better car in pretty much every way.

But Max has 2 big advantages; it's very hard to overtake at Imola, and LEC has a big enough lead that it's more important to finish the race than take risks and DNF.
So I think Max will win the Sprint, and I think LEC best way to overtake Max on sunday is with an undercut pitstop.

And of course the RB car must not break....
I hope they got things sorted now...

It looked like Toto was mad at Lewis for exiting his car before the session was up. Russ did wait for the end of the session. I am sure Lewis said something in response like they weren't going back out on track and Toto continued to yell back. It doesn't look good in the Merc garage. Lewis's ego most likely won't take that criticism well. He wanted to say something in that post quali interview, but held back. I see trouble waters ahead.

Sainz is struggling with the pressure or is putting too much pressure on himself to deliver. Yet again he has messed up when he just needed to be a little more chilled.

KMAG in 4th that is outstanding, that is what enjoying your driving but being chilled looks like and long may it continue.

Norris did well, yet again put peforming his now average looking teammate.

Mercedes, OMG what are they doing, setup looks terrible, a pogo stick bounces less than that car does. It’s bouncing at the front now not just at the back. Are they going for a crazy funny car if so they are nailing it. Soooo much to fix and they don’t seem to want to try anything to step it forwards.

Nice to see the rain mixing things up.

Any up to date weather forecast for sprint and race day?

All those red flags throughout quali was super infuriating to watch. Seems like Sainz has let pressure get to him, let’s hope he exercises some patience and not try to make a risky pass early on. Hopefully Max gets good points this weekend, if he DNFs again, both championships are effectively over in my eyes. RB definitely have a car to compete with Ferrari and it’d be a damn shame if we don’t see two talented drivers have an all time duel. Having watched Merc run away with both titles early in the season multiple times I hope we don’t have a repeat due to mechanical issues.

Not aging well at all. This isn't even about not being the fastest. You're not really competing for anything. The W13 is a really, really bad car.

On a side note, also at Imola they must have felt this one at 23h07. My daughter and her friends were in Northern Italy and all felt buildings shaking.

Looked it up and it's going to be warmer there today and Sunday too with less chance of rain but it can change quickly in that region.

As well as hopefully bagging 34 race points Max could win the Laureus award for Sportsman of the Year for which he has been nominated and the winner will be announced in Seville tomorrow.

Wot no signage Stefano?
Imola is Domenicali's home town yet apparently no signs were erected directing fans and teams to the Enzo e Dino circuit, but Ferrari know the way with eyes shut...
