i reached out to the stradale design folks who let me know that they are coming out with the side grills next week too. so now it seems we will have two options for full front protection. i am going to stick with stradale personally as i dislike the fact that the zunsports mount in front of those two bars in the middle.

Hello, I heard back from Zunsports. They tested their grill on a car with the adaptive cruise control module and found it works. They will update their website to reflect such.

Installed the zunsport grills minus the brake ducts. May put those on as well. I do like the stradale look as well so will see if I end up changing to that in the future.

The Turner's is definitely more comprehensive, did you have to use any additional spacers to allow for enough clearance? I ordered the Mishimoto but it's on back order est 8-10 weeks, it's fine as my build is only 1 week into the RFT status. I installed the Turner's on my daughter's M240i, but in that configuration, the rear attachment points are lowered by using 2x Turner's bracket, which unfortunately were short by 1-2 mm's. To avoid butting up the plate to the cooler, I had to insert a couple of fender washers between the brackets and the frame.
May have to switch to the Turner's on the 87 if my car arrives sooner. |

I've got the mishimoto going on but this was a concern of mine. how close to the shields are the two side intercoolers? I havent been able to get a read on that. my thinking was if there is an impact pushing up on the spot where the two front facing intercoolers are, my goose is cooked anyway since shit is clearly FUBAR

Interestingly I saw someone post saying the 2024 models came with the protection installed now... my center is still wide open, but it does appear to be protection on the left and right intakes.
I asked my salesman about the opening, knowing about all of this... he is a BME genius and stated that if something did happen, like a rock, it was covered by warranty. Now knowing the outcome of the OP.. not sure I believe him, but maybe things have changed?

Unfortunately your genius is incorrect. A rock hitting your vehicle will not be a warranty repair, regardless of what part it hits. |

My 2024 AT G87 side intakes radiators are silver metal color but I could see there are black frames in front of the silver metal part of the radiator.

All the M2s have the little black plastic covers, but they are thin plastic. I have held one in my hand. Can can spread the plastic fins apart easily and push your finger through. It offers little to no protection, as a rock went right through mine.

Looks great! Pretty pricey for a skid plate. Do you think it provides sufficient protection with cooler still somewhat exposed? Would something like the ZunSport grille fit underneath the skid plate?

Now THAT is a cool thought and one I would be willing to try.. (need to get a Turner plate of course) but I love that idea!

they seem pretty robust for what they are. its 3D printed plastic for sure but definitely enough to stop debris. the main one is held in by screws on the OEM mounting points (no hardware included, ofc) and the two side ones appear to have adhesive around the outside that you'll peel off the wrapper and stick it in there. anyones guess how that will hold up all winter. Ill have some time this weekend to get them in see how well everything fits... they have been responsive so far FWIW |

Here’s my rationale. With factory/port installed options and tint/front lip/ mirror cap additions, I’m in for about $75K (give or take). With that in mind, whether I spend $450 for a Mishimoto skid plate or $807 for the Turner Motor Sports version (which protects the entire bay unlike the Mishimoto) is inconsequential based on that $75K. The difference in price, to me, is worth additional protection and general piece of mind. I’m comfortable with the afforded protection. YMMV
