I just got the SE w600 today and it paired with the car with no problems and the phone book loaded ok.
I haven't received any calls, but calling was fine.

As far as I know only tested cell phones work with the system, you can check all in bmw web site. The address book work well after you paired if you have a confirmed phone and I know that i-mate is not one of them.

Hi
Nokia 6131 v3.61 (flip-phone) works great on E91 SatNav Pro (UK spec car from Sept 2005). Phonebook transfers are just about ok, one or two entries that do not go automatically. No idea why. Cheers |

Orange SPV C600 Problems
Following a favourable report on using the Orange SPV C600 phone with the E90, I purchased one - and it's really a terrific phone. However, I cannot get it to connect reliably to my E90 (CiP version currently unknown). The phone always seems to recognise the car and enters the correct profile but 2 out of 10 times (or so) especially if I am a passenger and the driver powers the car up while I am (say) putting something in the boot the car fails to spot the phone! This is not the case with my Sony Ericsson K750i which connects every time even if the driver picks me up after having driven 100 yards. Can anyone suggest anything since I really like the C600 phone and would like to keep it.

I seem to be lucky, not having had the problems you've had. I had the CIP20 update as part of the mp3 retrofit (for pre Oct05 cars). The phone worked fine before the update & has worked fine since. Older car software versions have had problems with BT functionality, but the dealer may say it isn't a recommended phone anyway. I'm wondering if the phone's software version is causing problems- my ROM version:1.0.7.0 Operator version:11.1.1.9 There has been problems with some phones going into 'Flight mode' without warning, thereby stopping BT working. You could try harrassing Orange & telling them you aren't happy because you can't receive calls when you expect, because the phone keeps going into this mode! Get a replacement & see if it works any better. Hope your problem gets sorted Roger. All the best. Viv |

Orange SPV C600 with E90/Sat Nav/Bluetooth

ROM version:2.0.6.0 Operator version:11.2.1.5 So you may be correct but asking Orange for another phone might make matters worse! Does anyone else have any experience of this phone/car combination? Thanks, Roger |

Anyone else with the Sony Ericsson W600 notice that the signal strength indicator on the car's display doesn't ever update after the initial connection with the car?

Mobile Phone & Bluetooth dont want to talk to each other!!!
Can someone help me.
I have just purchased my new E90 with Bluetooth preperation. I live in the UK and the car was registered in January this year. I am trying to get my phone to work via bluetooth. I use a Sony Ericson K700i. I have managed to pair up the phone and the car, no problem. However, the phone and the car conencts & disconnects themselves every 10 seconds or so and is driving me barking mad!!!!! Can someone tell me how to keep the connection on at all times, maybe be letting me step by step. As said, the phone and car recognize themselves. After that they just dont want to talk to each other!!!! Cheers, Welsh Lad. |

I've fixed it!!!! I went onto the Sony Ericsson website and downloaded the appropriate software onto my PC. From that I uploaded this new update to my phone via the DSS-25 communication module (a piece of kit that Sony Ericsson phones use for this kind of purpose) and bingo, it all works!!!!!
For the record, the software upgrade needed for complete compatability for the Sony Ericsson K700i is R2AY004 |

I tried the Imate K-Jam last week. The phone works and it auto-transfers the phone book. This probably means that the O2 equivalent PDA-Phone also works.

Bluetooth works sometimes... sometimes not...
Hello.. I paired my Motorola RAZR with my E90.. and it works great when it's working.. but sometimes it doesn't work. I get into my car and enable bluetooth on the phone.. and sometimes it doesn't pair-up with the car. I set both the phone & car to search for pairable devices.. but nothing! Is something wrong with the bluetooth unit in the car?

I have a similar problem with my Sony W600 when it works it's great. Sometimes the calls get kicked to the phone. dunno why
I was thinking of switch to the Razr because of the the good feedback it gets but now I think I am going to try updating the software on the phone. |

CAR Software version: You can't tell this from the car, but can probably infer this from the date of production, or your dealer can tell you. Pre Progman 20 (released Sept '05 / Production from about Dec'05) has Bluetooth issues. Phone software version "RAZR V3" pre-software version 42 is incompatible. Please search, you will find LOADS of info on this. A QUICK NOTE TO ALL: When reporting phone compatibility or incompatibility, please do include as much of the following info as you can: CAR progman/CIP version or car production (or most recent software update) date. CAR iDrive yes/no PHONE exact type (there are now several phones in the RAZR range for example) PHONE Software version. Features found to work or not tried (Calling / Receiving calls / Phonebook transfer etc. ) Any minor issues encountered. |
