Which BTW, sells for $1.22. Would this $5 combo work for playing your iPod through the aux input? |

I'm thinking about going for the Kensington LiquidAUX Auxiliary Car Kit with Remote for iPod since my car doesn't have the usb jack and idrive....the wireless remote seems like the best way to control and change my music without lifting the center console and fooling with my ipod....

I'm pretty sure they don't.

I used a Liquid Aux Bluetooth on an e46 with aux in through a Blitzsafe. The sound quality was excellent. I found the remote rather cheap and of not much value - grab the player and use its controls.
One issue - and I am using an iPhone - on the e90 I will have next week, I don't know how the phone will react to multiple Bluetooth options - will I be able to answer the phone through the BMW Bluetooth without a bunch of button pushing on the phone? That is yet to be seen. BTW, I believe the LiquidAux will be an elegant solution - installed in the center console - but you won't be able to use the mic built into the LA as it will not pick up in the console. Of course, the mic is the weakest part of the LA Bluetooth device regardless - IMO. |

Kensington Ipod Setup
Here is my ipod Setup. I used the Kensington LiquidAUX and an old 80GB Ipod Video. The ipod sits in the center console on the backing of a clear ipod case I got from a dollar store. I took the wireless remote out of the steering wheel harness and mounted it, works flawlessly.

I was worried about the same thing but the power adapter has about 1.5 inch clearance after the armrest is closed.

Those with using LiquidAux in the center console, how do you select your tracks? I noticed you had the wireless remote near the shifter but how do you select a specific song or artist, do you have to control that by opening the arm rest and use the ipod? Just a little confused....
