I was just going to ask you to look into this...Please see what can be done.

Any reason to suspect this wouldn't work on even newer models? I was planning on flashing this onto my MY2011 (03/2010 build date) this weekend. Hasn't had any flashing to date, and all modules are still coded as they were when it was purchased (no Cobb, etc.). From what I've seen on the other forum I'm expecting to lose paddle shifting ability, but it's worth a shot to get the performance boost. Won't bring the n55 up to the n54 level, but every little bit helps!

Do any of you guys with the flash have time to take a video? I'd love to see how much quicker than stock it's shifting. Even though I have a 6mt this is great news and a huge step forward for our platform

Wow this is some great news but does anyone know if this flash will work on a 2010 335d. Really would like some feedback on this. Thanks!

I can see no way this could work for the D. The diesel engine transmission is completely different, look at the redline for example.

I have no actual facts, just using logic.

2011 is N55 right? Then it should be DCT 7 Speed

No, DCT is only on the 335is which retained the N54. My n55 is a 6AT.

Well if you're up for trying it on a 6AT n55 (03/2010), I'm game to try it out.

First, great speaking with you Steven, but you sound tired! Don't forget to sleep!

Secondly, WOW.

I flashed my 03/07 production date transmission this evening.
Let me start by saying this. I'll bold it for effect:
Words, and even the video posted earlier do not do this flash any justice. AT ALL.
  • D1-6, S1-6, and M1-6 shown in cluster while driving.
  • Rev matching is truly a night and day difference. Downshifts are so fast and crisp.
  • WOT shifts approximately @6800rpm. I haven't logged my own so this was just eyeballing.
  • Previous software safeties for downshifts have been raised. Meaning, before on stock firmware, if you were to attempt to shift from 3-2 while RPM was above a few thousand RPM, the car was extremely conservative and wouldn't allow it. The tolerances have been raised and allow for much more aggressive downshifts and again the rev matching is a world of difference.
  • Shift times on the good old butt dyno are, again, faster. As described, much snappier.
  • DTC and DCS tolerances have also been raised from the previous conservative settings. I would liken this to the Euro MDM that M3's seek. The car allows more slip or spin before the nanny systems intervene, and when they do they feel softer, not as violent as the previous throttle closures slamming shut.
  • I can't speak on this, but the 5th gear issue for Single Turbo cars has also been fixed and proven by other members.

Overall, as tunes are for the DME, this flash also produces an immediately perceivable and felt change to the transmission.
I've said it earlier in this post but again, it is truly night and day.
It drives like a difference car and made me smile like the first time I tuned my N54.

Major props to Steve and Wedge as well as the other few pioneers on this.
Steve, I'll be in touch regarding the paddle shifters once I can test some other cars.
Then on to the next step

If you ever head down to LA, definitely let me know as my car is a MSD81 with paddle shifters.

I think the paddle shifter issue can be resolved through coding as the paddle shifter hardware, to my knowledge is identical across 07-10 6ATs. MSD81 on '08s works fine, but MSD81 on 09-10 does not. If you run across an 09-10, see if you can reset the coding to default (?) after the flash. Maybe that'll fix it.

Steve so has anyone with MSD81 been successful in flashing this software.

My DME was swapped to a MSD81 and I'm in the process of building a 10/07 build Trans that I bought since my production date was 07/06. Do you think the software will work on my car??

the software will work, but your paddles (if you have them) may possibly not.
