Hi shaushshaush, Sorry about that, i just checked that Ella has emailed you but it seems you were out of the office in the last few days. And there is no reply from your end.

Had I not cut the tabs, the head unit would not have recessed into the dash. There would have been a gap on the sides.

I'm in the market for two units, one for my E92 and one for my Ford S-Max. I won't be buying an Eonon unit for either car though, until they can get the fit and software issues fully sorted. The company policy seems to be to chuck something together that looks good in an internet advert and stick it on the market, hoping that most people will put up with the poor functionality because it's inexpensive and a ball ache to return. It's a shame, a case of spoiling the ship for a ha'p'orth of tar.

Gotcha. Could you comment on whether or not your home/eject buttons get stuck if you push them in? I'm thinking that cutting this tab off might help fix the problem but I wouldn't mind your take on it before I do that.

I'm becoming too sad after so many posts of complaints about these radio...

In one of my posts I asked Carlos if those upgrades were fully tested and would work on my car... and now one more time there is a complaint that the problem still remains after upgrading the radio... Not confident that will work on my car too.

I have the same problem with home and eject buttons being stick every time I press them.

The main issue for me is to have the pdc malfunction solved, hopping that Eonon send me a new can bus box to fix it...and that it works properly after the replacement!

Inititially, the two buttons did stick. I had to finagle it a bit to get the head unit seated in okay. There were two torx screws on that area of the dash that I loosened just a bit as well.

Thats interesting tat you say that you never receive my emails, i ALWAYS responded back the same day you sent me one. But seem to always get a responsed to me emails after I post on the forum. The last email you sent me had my responsed attached to it so seems kind astrange you never got any response from me but it was attached to your reply. Well nonethe less, I hope that per your last email to me that you will send a replacement out and send me a tracking number today.

Hi techy1, D5165 can work with Logic 7, but you have to do some modification.

Firstly, for the software to update the door radar, installation frame and other all issues, i have reflected to the R&D already and i will update you once i have the answer!

The question is not that if Eonon is a responsible seller or not.
The main question is that we didnt bought these radios to test for EONON, and don't want to wait for EONON to solve those questions to other buyers... We want solutions, not tests after tests for problems that EONON is not solving.

Ok,
More (bad) news about my radio:
- Just made the upgrade that Eonon asked to do to solve radar open door sensor. Nothing happen, no reboot, nothing. Put the files on the radio according to the instructions and nothing after playing, reseting...Waited and waited but nothing happened.
- PDC malfunction: at this moment Eonon asks to me to send my can bus box and after they will resend a new one. The problem: if I take out my can bus box and until I receive a new one, the radio doesn't turn on! More: probably after receiving a new can bus box the problem won't be solved... Like radar open door sensor.

And remember the answer to one of my questions: "Yes, the software can work with the bmw 320d touring (E91) 2006 ..."

how many of you have bought this radio? If so, have you upgraded the radio successfully? Are you going to send the can bus box without receiving a new one, and without any warranty that the new one will work?

Before releasing, we tested the unit and it works well in our end,so we afraid some of the issues may caused by the compatibility. We will found the same car model you provided to test it again.

We only hear negative reports from people with issues with the unit on this thread, which is the nature of forums. It would be nice to hear from people who have installed the unit and been happy with it. They must be out there, I assume Eonon must have sold thousands of the units.

Sorry but this statement is totally the opposite of the reality that different users from E90postforum are experience: for none of us the radio works according to the specifications that EONON describes . The advertising of D5165 says that this model is compatible with BMW E90/E91/E92/93 , 2006-2011; at this forum we have different models E9X for which this radio does not work properly: now EONON assumes that there are compatibility issues! Bad job !

In the nightmare we're having with all this problems, what is the guarantee that the new will works properly? Already spent $ 400 and still have to spend more to get this radio working well, when EONON technical support asked us to make an upgrade to put the radar door sensor working properly and after that upgrade, the problem still exists?
Finally, how will EONON return the money?

The position that EONON is assuming to solve (or try to...) the problems is not far the best for the users who have decided to buy a radio that so far does not work according to specs. And now EONON asks for more money to solve a problem that we have no warranties that will be solved!

This is understanding and nice cooperation from EONON?

As was noted that forums are mainly about feedback, and is known to mostly get the negative ones. But, despite my hiccups I had with mines, I am still pleased with the unit itself for what i paid for. Not forgetting for all it does in a head unit, any other radio would probably cost more than double what this unit is, and that additional cost is is where your reliability and quality goes.

You get what you pay for. If you want a flawless radio, then spend the $800-$1000 for the other ones. But if you want a "work in progress" for $350-400, and willing to work out the bumps and bruises along the way, then Eonon is the one.

Funny is back in January I sent a PM to Eonon to be a tester on these units and I know I would have prevented a lot of peoples headaches that they are getting now, esp if you look at my posts as to what I was able to do with this. So I hope if Eonon decides to release another version that they get outside testers (like myself) to do all to this unit and work out the kinks before releasing it.

Unhappy to find all the feedback Eonon is giving every day on other foruns, but at this forum, and being a sponsor, no support to Eonon's customers.


P.S: Just made my upgrade with the two files Eonon provided to solve Radar Open Sensor, and as 7786, the problem is still there...

Hi bmgp, firstly, a misunderstanding will surely bring unhappy shopping experience. So far we HAVEN’T asking customers ANY extra money to solve the problem.
In your case, Eonon would like to send you a new can bus for FREE, problem is, you don’t want to send the older one to us personally, so we have another solution for you, paid for the new one TEMPORARILY , we will RETURN the money to you after you send back the older one to us. So we don’t charge any penny! Is there any misunderstanding? If we charge, you will not be the first one to complain

Electronic products cannot be 100% perfect, that's why all company provide electronic products will also provide you after sale service AT THE SAME TIME, even Apple ,Samsung. I bought a Galaxy S4 last month, and it always crash with no reason at all, i just go to the shop, they try to fix the problem for me, and the best solution they offer me is to change a new one. I was out of the 100% money back warranty, but i still felt satisfy with the solution, but maybe someone not.

If you really want to return your unit, just contact me, I will give you a solution! This is not the first forum Eonon sponsors, we've been cooperated with mazda3forum.com for almost 4 years, some time we sold 50+ units per GB, during this 4 years, inevitably there are some problems of the unit, we try our best to solve and the members always give us support and understanding. So, for more than 3 years, members there could have a most affordable unit they like!

Right now the main problem unsolved is the radar door sensor not working, we are trying our best working on it, however, please think about that, is that the main function or the most important function for you to buy this GPS unit? If not, your kindly patience and understanding will be very much appreciated! Just give us some time

Return Eonon unit and cost 3- 4 times money to buy another brand? Will you 100% sure that unit is 100% perfect? Even that brand will not give you such promise. Eonon have been on the car audio GPS industry for more than 10 years, maybe we do not qualified for a long history brand, at least we are very familiar with this industry. We are confident with our products and service, that’s why you have a place like here to complain and have some one like me to respond with all the question!
