I know Dension is easier as I have it installed already. But there are some problems, sometime the navigation through the playlist is impossible because it is saying msg "loading playlist" or something like that. Also i would like to use also Cd changer. Then adding fiscon BT unit is impossible because it uses again cd changer menu to use BT audio functions. So it is either Dension or either Fiscon. I would like to have USB port, BT connection to phone and BT audio (streaming audio) and possibly CD changer.
On ebay there is ton of used MULF and TCU units sold very cheap (200€ for both of them), the problem is only harness i believe. And my knowledge, because i don't know which modules are to be used for BT and USB. I read somewhere that MULF2 high can do USB and BT (not clear if also BT streaming), other are saying that TCU must be used.. really confusing. Not to mention that there exist a combox also, but then again it can only be used on CIC navigation, but i have CCC. Is is possible to use combox with CCC ? |

Digging this one up because I'm about to dive into a 6FL retrofit. This thread has LOTS of info, but after reading through it a couple of times, I don't see my particular setup addressed, so here goes.
I'm in Canada and have a 2008 328i (build date 04/2008). She has the following options that I believe are relevant to this endeavour: S663A - Radio BMW Professional S639A - Preparation f mobile phone cpl. USA/CDN S693A - Preparation BMW satellite radio S694A - Provisions for BMW 6 CD changer She has a TCU in the trunk. I have the MULF 2 High coming. She has Bluetooth/voice commands enabled. No Nav. So, from what I've gathered here, the 2 will work in parallel, with the MULF2 only controlling the USB functionality, while the TCU will continue to take care of the Bluetooth, etc... I'm not sure, but I think that having the CD Changer preparation means that the only additional wire I will have to run is the USB <-> MULF2, and the rest should be present in the trunk. Is that correct? I guess the main question is how to I connect the MULF2 and TCU in parallel? Thanks for any help. It's much appreciated. Cheers! |

I have skimmed and read through the whole post...im so confused myself. I have a pre 3/07 E92 with no MULF2 or TCU but have the same...
S663A - Radio BMW Professional S639A - Preparation f mobile phone cpl. USA/CDN S693A - Preparation BMW satellite radio S694A - Provisions for BMW 6 CD changer I just want Sirius and USB/Aux. What are the benefits of just adding MULF2? |

I think LCI radio would give all that want natively but you might have problems sourcing one.

Bump an old thread for some help retrofitting this in my cousin's E92 M3.
The car has the following relevant configuration: S639 Preparation f mobile phone cpl. USA/CDN S6VC Control for Combox S663 Radio BMW Professional Since it has Combox, is the following correct in parts that are needed?
Since the car has Combox, does this mean we can discard the aux side of the equation (ie. don't bother routing it to the combox/HU) as we can use a simple Apple USB lighting cable to connect to an iPod that will sit in the armrest console?

How do you connect the USB to MULF2 but still retain the original AUX connection? Or can the AUX also be connected to the MULF2?

you can route aux to mulf2high too
also you can keep it on HU, but you need to custom code HU

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I'm about to pick up an E93 335i which does not have a USB input in the centre console (6FLA?), which is something I really want - I have it in my E93 M3 and I keep a USB memory stick full of MP3s plugged in to it.
What the 335i does have is: S609A Navigation system Professional S612A BMW Assist S615A Expanded BMW Online Information S616A BMW Online S620A Voice control S633A Preparation, mobile phone, Business S694A Provisions for BMW 6 CD changer S698A Area-Code 2 for DVD S6AAA BMW TeleServices S6ABA Control for Teleservices S6VCA Control for Combox S8SCA Telematics access request,country-spec. Does anybody know what I need in order to retrofit a working USB socket in the centre console? Is it as simple as getting the correct lead with a USB socket at one end and a plug which goes into the combox at the other (plus the necessary coding, of course) or is it more complicated that that?

You need a mulf 2 high and programming and maybe wiring.
You might as well get a combox that will give wireless bluetooth streaming to. This thread is long an already describes the mulf 2 hi retrofit. You can go to bimmertech or bimmeretrofits if you don't want to to a lot of digging and learning to code. |

Thanks, but the car already has a combox fitted, and I'm ok with doing the coding.
My question was really about the wiring. Do I just need a harness with the USB socket at one end and a plug that goes into the combox on the other, or is there more than that involved? |
