If I understand this correctly, you did a MT swap? If so, what was the total spend and who did the work?

Can't speak to the exact cost because we did a bunch of preventative and aftermarket work too, but it was nowhere near as expensive as I thought it'd be. I'd contact him for a quote. The swap itself came out flawlessly. No CEL or issues otherwise. Been driving it quite happily since.

I decided to go through with it because I got tired of waiting and found a great deal on a wagon that had the exact spec and color combo I wanted, but was an auto. That and it was slightly higher mileage, so I'm glad I don't have to worry about resale value and can enjoy just driving the car.

I was referring more to the mileage, but as for the swap, it depends on the prospective buyer. It's never bothered me any personally, but I wouldn't be surprised if it turned off some people. Some people are all about the originality for whatever reason. And of course some are concerned that it was done right, which is a legitimate concern, but can also be misplaced.

That aside, the E91 is just not something I'd consider that collectible so I don't really understand why it matters. Drive these cars, don't worry about dings/scratches/mileage. They're utilitarian vehicles, use them as intended.

Related to swaps, has anyone here driven an F31? What is the drive like?
They're almost cheap enough to consider picking up a 100k example and a wrecked 6MT 340i sedan and swapping in the engine and transmission

thinking of selling the wagon (if it makes sense) since I want to get an e92 MT M3. Any idea how much?

clean CA title, no accidents
I'm the third owner
dark blue exterior, black interior with wood trim
54,5xx miles
auto
comfort access
cold weather package (heated seats, steering wheel etc)
iDrive
Navi
brake pads and rotors were replaced less than 500 miles ago
AC evaporator and other misc items such as iDrive controller etc replaced by previous owner (with receipts)
I have all the stock parts

extras which were all installed in the last 4 months (and I know mods don't do much for resale value)
airlift /accuair 3p
volk ce28n
**********s mtech rep bumper
orion v2
AA gen 2 exhaust
CF grills

I would put it back to stock, I think you'd get more for it. Not too many people want air suspension on their wagon. Honestly, when I'm looking for a car, I pass right by ones with noticeable visual modifications.

Stock, you could probably get 10-15 grand for the car, depending on your local market. I know that's a big range.

Has anyone seen a solid crimson over black e91 for sale anywhere recently? Can’t remember the last time I’ve seen one and I think crimson would look awesome on the e91.

It’ll match my alpine e90! Besides the front m tech bumper and headliner. The e90 is only M tech from the rear.

Wow yeah that's a smoking deal. I am actually tempted regardless of where it is. I'd have to see the "cosmetic" issue in person though.

I'd pass. Sounds like my previous e39 which had one elderly owner and a few cosmetic issues. I drove it from 65k-140k and dumped more money into that car then the auction purchased BMWs I drove through college.

Not surprised. If its too good to be true, it is. The pictures are real crappy, the front bumper grill looks to be gone, rear fender looks banged up, etc
