I don't know... it's just word on the street that they have a better product. The original BMW ones last a good 10 years, so they may have better plastic. I'm expecting this replacement one to not last too long... this is at least the third aftermarket one in 10 years. Super easy to replace at least, but it is a hassle when you're not expecting it!

Here's the $12 repair kit: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09M73CX1R

Everything out and on the table:

This is the part the broke on me:

And a straightforward video showing how to do it:

If this lasts me half the 17 years the original lasted, I'll be good!
So, as you can see from the post a few above, this regulator repair lasted less than a year. Really bummed as I liked the DIY aspect of it and making something last. But the materials they use suck... basically made from cotton balls and raccoon saliva.
Spend your money elsewhere. Hopefully the full mechanism lasts a little longer... will report back with my findings!

This is what happened. I was driving my car, pushed it a little bit not too hard. Thought I felt the transmission blow but now I’m unsure. I came to a stop tried to put it in 1st to take off but it would not engage and I was able to take my foot off whilst in 1st without stalling. Coolant spilled everywhere also. There was no clunking or weird noises. Could it be a hydraulic leak? Or the Throw out bearing

Time to make a Tiktok is that pad a "one time use" with product preapplied or is it just a wonderful glass cleaning pad?

On things I did today:
Visited my rear door panel to see how the new "studs" for the B&W speaker have set. So far its promising! I should have gotten some nuts or spacers from the hardware store though. Will pick some up on my way to work tomorrow

Unless I'm doing it wrong, I just use it to wipe off the accumulated haze. Comes off easily. The blue side is supposed to reduce future accumulation, I don't know about that...

I wonder how these speakers compare to the Individual Audio speakers (which are the same as B&O speakers in the F series)…

Thats a tidbit I never knew. Neat. I would love to do a side by side comparison.

It sounds great so far. I'm no audiophile though

I buttoned up the rear suspension, cleaned it up and then took a few pictures. I'm happy with the stance after going with the B4 shocks.

I fight with grime all the time no matter how much I clean my windshields. Will have to give this a try. All I use is 303 interior dash cleaner and I don't use that often as I'm afraid that causes the grime but definitely not.

interior pretty much done.

yesterday I've completed :

- exhaust valve console integration
- headlight rewiring (pre-lci to LCI AHL)
- heated steering wheel retrofit
- new steering wheel.

a pretty fully loaded uber-retrofitted E91.

It's probably just a fancy microfiber cloth. I can't say if it actually reduces build up, but it cleans it off quickly and easily!

this is a retrofit.

1 - heated sport pack steering wheel (M pack are not heated)
2- find a M pack face trim
3- stitch a cover.

lot of work for not that much, but hey, this is a project car.

hahaha, SAME !

I legitimately said this is fcking useless ....

But I bought a F25 with heated steering, and I really enjoyed it !

I'm this guy, -25°C (-13°F), DC shoes, sweater and of course no gloves. So yeah, I really loved this somewhat ''useless'' feature.

oVeRdOsE. might just have the coolest E91 on the platform. This is the N54 swapped one right?

Also do you still have the pinouts for the Pre LCI AHL headlight harness on hand?
