might buy some. Need under my hood to, the paint come very hot

I wanted this valve cover blanket, but I'm too cheap.
Quite expensive if I add exchange rate, customs, shipping and taxes.

I would just go aluminum valve cover, not even $200 off of Amazon. Never worry about plastic again!!

there's a thread on the n54 subforum about those cover, people want to try them, but nobody has a review.

read in some thread that people having issue with those, fitement and leaks, and ended up to use OEM.
I'll consider it when mine will be due, right now it's new.

I have one on my car currently. Only issue I have with it is pcv style is the same as o.e.m so with my upgraded turbos I needed to add a vented oil cap so i don't blow valve cover gaskets. I noticed that Carrottoptuning.com (trash company b.t.w) sells the Amazon aluminum valve cover for $250

interresting...

so the oem pvc is too restrictive? hi or low side?

I got the upgraded metal pvc on low, and hi open to the catch can, and the catch can is open to the air since I can't plug it on the intake

Also, the CC is bone dry, like new, not a good sign for pressure issue.

So far, seems I dont have pressure issue.

Ive added a 335d air duct to cool down this area, which should work, because I had the melted valve cover after letting sit the car after a ride (heat soak)

Howdy folks. Haven't stopped by in a while, mainly because I've been too busy and haven't really done anything to the 330, until last night.

I finally got automatic high beams and FRM 2 retrofitted. Still chasing down one issue with the driver side AHL control. (It works just fine but there's a code, completely due to the FRM).

Easily the best $130+$80 I've spent on this car apart from keeping it maintained. The mirror is from an X5, and as a result has a slightly higher angle than its supposed to. It still works better than I'd ever expect old tech like this to work (it's a fairly complex problem to differentiate oncoming traffic from street lights), but I'll probably make it correct some day by shimming the camera mount.

I also got a 300f kombi installed. After years of not having a working BC display, I finally decided to swap it for an 07 335 cluster that has the 120-300F oil temp gauge, which is a much more reasonable scale than the later 160-340F.

Yes both high an low PCV setup is not efficient for higher boost. I have OCC on high an low side, got ride of low metal pcv. High side goes from valve cover to occ back to factory location on rear intake (since you went single turbo you can't) and low side goes from valve cover to occ an has a check valve with adapter from BMS to throttle body

Why is it bad? I'm currently on upgraded twins and keep having a boost issue and I'm starting to think my low ide PCV valve is faulty. I've noticed oil seeping out of the oil cap however I have no oil leaks on any gaskets in the engine. Car pulls strong just peaks out at 18lbs of boost. I've tested for boost leaks using the PVC cap method and pressurized air, found a faulty charge pipe and after replacing it I went from 14/15lbs to 18 but cannot get the car up higher. WGDC is pegged at 99 every time too. I've heard the PCV check valve could cause boost issues and just so happens you mentioned it to be bad?

It's not "bad" it's just doesn't work efficiently with higher boost. It's not designed to work with boost pressures that aren't factory pressures. Lol honestly it barely worked properly at factory boost pressures.
What I did was cut off high side check valve and replaced with hose so free flow. Low side as I previously mentioned I got rid of the metal/plastic check valve as well and got a OCC kit from BMS (Burger Motorsport). Even with all that I still opted for a oil cap breather with filter just to be sure.

Nothing too important, just sorting out some niggling issues as I go along, all things that existed prior to me buying the car earlier this year. Started with me visiting my local BMW dealer to verify and discuss the Vanos bolt recall that affects my car, so will have to arrange an appointment for that, and will most likely have them replace the eccentric shaft sensor while they have the valve cover off (suspect it has the oil leak issue, saw a very small trace of oil in the plug some months back, so kinda makes sense to replace as a preventative measure).

For what ever random reason, the left rear C-pillar is missing the plastic airbag clip cover AND the torx bolt. I suspect these were removed when tinting was done and just never put back. Ordered new replacements from BMW this afternoon, should hopefully get them tomorrow.

I can only assume that a valet cleaning resulted in a vacuum cleaner eating the plastic trim piece from the driver's seat rail, and the tray insert in the boot (trunk) was missing, things that just irk me! So after I got a crazy expensive quote from BMW for this clip I decided to phone a local secondhand spares place to see if they had any as well as the tray insert and the fabric rear wheel arch liners (driver's side is somehow falling apart where it meets the wheel arch). Collected the tray and trim piece this afternoon, didn't charge me a cent for the trim piece, will the right rear wheel liner should hopefully be available tomorrow.

So it was quite a productive car day today!

I appreciate the fact your willing to pay for correct O.E.M genuine BMW parts. Just If you go online you can find parts cheaper usually and still genuine BMW O.E.M. fcpeuro.com sells a lot of BMW parts and lifetime warranty. Other sites such as bmwpartsdirect.com. some will make you wait/pay for shipping but you will be waiting for bmw to receive parts as well.

Decided to try to figure out the annoying fuel tank misreading after replacing my FPR a year ago. Thanks to Artmasterx I had some good intel as to what the problem might be, and sure enough that was the fix. So, now I have a fuel gauge that's working properly.

Also am fixing the "humidity sensor" that was messed up 2 years ago when I had my windshield replaced. That had resulted in screwing up auto climate control for several years.

Oh, and then after all of this, I had a xenon light decide to go intermittent. So, new bulbs on the way. This, i chalk up to BMWs being BMWs.

First bulb replacement after 250,000 miles, so I really can't complain.

Same on my 2011! I wasn't sure if it was deleted as part of LCI but it's on my to do list once I find a deal. Pricing on those seat rail covers is also crazy, missing them too on the back seat part of the rails. Awesome deal you found!

Unfortunately we don't have fcpeuro.com where I am, but there are other spares places that stock the proper OEM parts, for instance the VDO eccentric shaft sensor, which they sell for that is basically 50% the price of the same BMW branded part from the agents. Depends on the type of parts, I try to stick to genuine BMW parts mostly...

Congrats! Totally agree on FLA being one of my favorite mods/retrofits.

I had the same observation on my mirror sourced from an X6, that the camera is angled slightly upward.

When I mentioned the same concern in one of the FLA retrofit threads, someone suggested that the upward tilt may be intentional, so I've been running it as-is. It seems to work great, so I don't think I'll bother with shimming.

I also wondered if it was just not included with the LCI, but the mere fact that this car has a few random and key items missing tells me that either they were stolen, or removed for some reason at some point before I bought it. Missing the first aid kit for example, luckily still have one from my old car. Collected the right rear fabric wheel arch liner this afternoon and paid, they literally only charged me for the wheel arch liner, so scored the other bits for free. Used parts like this are fine, and just makes financial sense compared to buying from BMW.
