Al,
if only the centers have steel showing, it could be overinflation combined with alignment. The v12 evo is a very pressure sensitive tire, with differing compound throughout the life of the tread. With high HP RWD car, it is possible that you chunked the tire, and it just got worse from there. The rubber compound changes to something much softer at 3-4/32 and burns off alot more quickly.

Or youre a ricer doing burnouts everywhere

It was actually the inside half from the middle out but more towards the inside edge.

So I forgot this from yesterday. After posting my tire story, I go to take my girls to cheer. Over the weekend I futzed with my mirror and inadvertandly turned the volume on my radar detector way down. So I driving west on Bonner going 50. I see a cop coming towards me, look at my speedometer and look at my GPS (shows speed limit). I'm doing 50 in the part that drops to 30 and my radar detector is a full bars KA band.

I figure I'm meat. I watch my rearview....the space between us grows to about two blocks. Keep in mind that there are cars behind me. I see him whip around as soon as he is clear. Before he completes his turn I duck down a side street. In my mind I'm thinking of excuses for turning off Bonner. So I'm going South on this street and decide I need to go parallel so he can't see me from Bonner. So I turn West to continue towards the gym.

In the process of the right hand turn, because my mind is preoccupied, I don't completely stop at the sign. Unmarked car sitting there pulls me over before I get to far. He takes my license and pretty much tells me I'm not getting a ticket unless I have outstanding warrants or tickets/etc. I'm thinking what if he calls this in and his buddy hears it (not thinking he was just checking on his on board computer - mind not really thinking clearly then). Anyway he lets me go....

What a weird day...

Did I mention that when I got to WSTO, one of the rims is bent?

I don't think Camry's can go 50 mph, can they?
