I was hoping one of you would get it. In the end, I think the price was about right. Now to move on to working on the 2007.

I figured between 15-20 and it did exactly that. Congrats on sale. If it were rwd I would have been a bidder for sure.

Our turn will come. I'm sure you've mentioned it somewhere on this thread, but what are your must haves?

Sorry man. I literally had 18,000 ready to click and I just couldn't do it. A part of me was hoping everyone here was right and that it was going to go for $20K-$23K and then I wouldn't have to even worry about it. Ha! But at $17,750, it's right at a price that I could have lived with if I would have gone $250 more. But like I said, that winning bidder maybe had a max budget of $19K. We'll never know. Maybe it was the Saddle Brown holding me back? If it were chestnut brown (i.e. red) I would have pushed my max bid. My 335 was AW/Saddle and I LOVED it. I didn't have the same feeling paired with Space Grey.

Congrats on the sale though. Hope it's a smooth transaction. Buyer sounds like they're happy they got it. Good luck with the 07!

Agree completely on the price. Who knows where it would have ended.

As for my must haves: sport package (prefer M-Sport), xDrive, Cold Weather package (prefer heated steering added), Logic 7 or Harmon Kardon, and Xenon headlights. No gold or light silver color exterior.

Did you see the one posted above by 31ModelA? It looks like it would be your jam, and it's a good price too. Also a southern car.

I have a question for the forum: How hard is it to move the sport seats from an E46 into an E91? Are there any DIYs on this? So far, searching has not produced a lot of information on this topic, thanks.

Not easily. The rails are offset differently so they don't fit without an adapter plate of some kind. When I had my E83 X3 (same seat frame PN as E46), I wanted to get some E90 sport seats to stick in it and found that it's not really possible without a bunch of fabrication.

Supposedly F30/F80 seats fit into E90 cars though.

Gotcha! Fortunately, it sounds like you've got some flexibility in your search. I'm being picky and really want a FACTORY M-Sport. The asterisk to that is that if a solid Crimson Red popped up I'd build an M-Sport since it wasn't available from the factory. Transmission and drivetrain aren't huge factors (PREFER 6AT, PREFER xDrive). Alpine White is #1, Space Grey is #2, Crimson is #3.

I'm really annoyed because an AW/Chestnut 6AT xDrive came up 6 months ago, when I wasn't really looking for a wagon, and missed out. Is what it is. Good luck with your search.

I decided to be more flexible this time around... my must haves were: dark color, not gray, comfort access.
Found a good price on a 100k mile xdrive auto w/cold weather in dark (monaco) blue within 2 days.

In the last week, I've added the sport package and nicer mirrors, and replaced the xenons.

I'll add the Harman Kardon sound system this winter.
Hardest part will be mounting and cutting the holes in the headliner for the roof speakers.

Pretty much anything can be retrofitted if you are handy. I don't think it is worth waiting for the perfect car, but good luck in your search!

I know you already had Sport seats and steering from your old E91. But if I wanted to retrofit, what's the going rate for sport seats nowadays? Say black interior, I figure chestnut/Dakota brown would be more?

Rear seat backs require custom CNC'd bracket adapters, the rear bench fits without any modifications (i did it on my E90), the F30/F80 require a lot of fiddling around with wiring / modules to function properly. Probably easier to swap the wiring from E9x to F30/80 seats. Hardest part is matching your door panels / arm rest to the seats unless you get Black Dakota (F30 door panels) or Black Merino (E90 M3 door panels)

The hardest part is finding the damn speakers for the headliner lol. The headliner actually has a template / marks where the hole gets cut so that's easy.

Let me know when you're ready to do HK, I have a bunch of parts for the HK retrofit.

You can pick up a black sport E90 interior for around $500 from BMW dismantlers - has to be with drop down rear seats obviously. A few minor modifications to the rear door panels and rear seat backs / bolsters, and it'll look like a factory E91 interior.

All other colors aside from Tan / Gray / Black will start at $800 for Oyster, and $1100-1500 for others. I ended up buying a complete E90 from the insurance auction to obtain a sport terra interior, cost me as much as the interior would have based on what i was finding and in the end i got myself another daily beater (08 335 6MT) lol.

Thanks to an 8" water utility cover tearing up the bottom of my car, my E90 335 M-Sport was totaled. I will be selling my entire Saddle Brown interior at some point. If anyone is interested for their E91 project I'd definitely rather go that route that dealing with the inevitable tire kickers.

Ahhhh my issue exactly. I'm not handy at all. Kind of sucks. I can remove tail lights and replace angel eye bulbs and side marker bulbs, but that's about it! "Projects" immediately go to my local BMW guy who does a great job. For me, the work gets done quick and I know I'm going to be happy with his attention to detail AND he gets the cash so he can work on and modify his cars. Kind of nice.

I'm also very much a numbers guy so when I hear that I have 1 of 2 cars that has a specific combo, it's just kind of a neat tidbit of info to share. I do enjoy the search, no matter how long it takes. As always, to each their own.

Igor gave a more detailed answer already, but if you just want the sport front seats, I found both driver and passenger black leather seats for about $75 each on car-part dot com. I ended up using my old seats and buying a replacement airbag for $150 because I didn't have time to drive to the parts yard.

Finding the speakers and brackets was a pain... the same speaker is used for the center channel in the X1, so I got a couple of those relatively easily, but then needed brackets, which are discontinued.

Eventually ECS found a couple of brackets for me in a warehouse somewhere. They were still sitting in the box on my retrofits shelf during the accident

This guy in Lithuania has a few sets of speaker+bracket: https://www.ebay.com/itm/174122335204

Glad to hear the headliner has a template, I was hoping it wouldn't be a completely different headliner shape.

As for parts, I had already retrofitted HK into my '07 (except the roof speakers), so I just need to go through and rip everything back out and wire back up the HK amp. I swapped the front door speakers and tweeters this weekend, will do the rears this week. Hopefully the driver's side rear door card isn't damaged from the accident on the '07, it has a roll up sunshade in it that I want to move to the new car.

I do understand this! My '07 was 1 of 1 with a 2018 M4's nav/carplay/idrive system, and 1 of 1 USA wagons with a 6MT and adaptive cruise.
True, it didn't come from the factory that way...

Yeah, the latches and latch releases in the sedan are in the trunk and are positioned in the back center of each backrest, while the E91 has the latches on the side, along with the latch release. You have to swap over the upholstery and the foam padding, and cut a few clean holes in the leather for the latches and latch releases.

The bolsters... are identical shape and width from the bottom to the part that gets covered by the rear side window trim panel, on the sedan... the bolster is taller. You simply swap the leather over, and have a seamstress or upholstery shop shorten the top, either way that area gets covered on the E91.

I had to do all this with the M3 interior for my conversion. Rear cost me 175 from a shop, not terrible. Bolster gets covered with trim, so doesn't ever need to be perfect and latch release cuts get covered as well with latch trim. I might have done it myself if I had the time.

Hi All - 2007 328i wagon at Tysons Audi in Virginia...I got excited b/c they mentioned it was a 6 speed manual in the listing. After getting some photos from the rep...it was an automatic. Well that sucked...75K miles only and great service history. Go search for it!

Here's that car. I got excited too for $7k, but ran a vin check and autotragic. Also, titan silver, and I didn't want another gray car.

Car world has a couple out in california too.
2012 alpine white 67k $17,500: https://www.carworldautomotive.com/p...il/2012/436879
2011 deep sea blue 74k $11,000: https://www.carworldautomotive.com/p...-Series/450378

all are rear wheel drive automatic, none have comfort access

Yes! Agreed - I do think it's a good deal for someone who doesn't mind an auto. Lots of service history and pretty cheap. Isn't the sports package hard to find?
