And that's actually a fair depiction of what I mostly do. It pays far better than catalogue writing or producing for up and comers.

No mansion or HIV yet though. Just a loft for myself, small beach home for my mom&grandma in Rosarito and an ingrown hair so far.

That's great man. What instrument do you play, if I may ask?

I played piano professionally (guild, state competitions, etc.) for almost 10 years, then stopped around age 16. I guess back then, the money to continue the lessons wasn't really justifiable considering everything else I had going on. But whatever, I'm happy you're doing something really cool!

HAHAH I remember when I saw that last year. I literally shook my head, but it's true.

Dogs entering the country must be quarantined for two weeks due to the fact that rabies doesn't exist there. I never stay long enough out there to justify bringing the dog with me so he just stays with my mom which I'm sure he doesn't mind, since she cooks his meals fresh every day

Dudeeee you should have kept going! That's like the prime age to fully pursue any instrument considering your brain is still developing so it's like learning a new language.

I started when I was 5 (piano) and then classical guitar at 7. (I also play drums and viola but not professionally) By the time I was 12 I already composing my own symphonies with a rock twist (I had turned to the dark side, both of my classical teachers refused to teach me anymore after I started playing electric guitar) but surprisingly- I never did any comps after 10.

Years of playing, getting to know local/national acts+ a brother who's a big shot in the industry all sort of opened up this pathway, and as they say "the rest is rock n roll history"
