Got sick of the vibrating 193s and bought new arc8s and Michelins for the car.

Of course this did not fully fix the vibration and there was a small one left on the wheel and back of the seat, had them road force balanced and made it much worse.

At one point I might lose my shit and sell it since having an e90 that doesn’t shake seems unachievable

How are the shocks? Could be a blown dampener, had that before.
Also, try having the wheels balanced on the car - that’s fixed the vibrations for me in the past too.

Reported on my 1st trip with android auto mmi box on oem CIC.

Well , i probably remove it and go with a full androind screen.

- too limited, cant use multiple generic app, even with a rooted phone is pretty limited.

- and worst for me : cant relly use wireless android auto, because the phone become hot and in 3h drops 50% battery !!! On a s23 ultra that has a massive battey.

And no, i wont use the wired, it defeat the purpose of not getting my phone out.

Full android I simply share my hotspot, automatically with a routine, and battery drain is minimal.

Looks like a well known issue, and again didnt completed my research on this topic and need to replace this

Did they align the yellow and red dot that's on the tries properly?

Screen better, nav better, can still keep ccc knob with no real loss of functionality, looks stock, plays dvds but can’t play videos off flash drive like my nbt id4 could.

CCC aux wasn’t bad at all. CIC in head aux is horrendous. Keep in mind this is same jack wiring everything but the head unit.

That what made me go do combox conversion only a couple week later just to get audio BT instead.
Eventually I will run my aux wiring back to the combox as adding combox disables in headaux.

Side note if I’m not nuts, spool street forum had an article about how ot access the TV input to feed external video to screen to do torque and other such odb2 guage apps. Just an idea.

Ours was a very stock '94 with auto that gave out. Everything started breaking at around 150k. Sunroof quit, driver's seat only pulled one side so was sideways, replaced the trans, then was rear-ended and totaled. Great little engine though, that thing was perfect. BMWs didn't always leak oil!!!

No glamour pictures, just this one showing how great it was and holding cargo and kid seats

And this one after being rear-ended:

I wonder if that is why people have a bad experience with Android units and say the audio sucks since you have to plug into the aux.

The e90 CCC Aux sounds decent and the e82 has a business radio and I can't complain neither. Keep in mind the e90 has logic 7 so I understand it's not going to be the same however it sounds good enough for my ears to enjoy.

My experience with these Chinese units is that the components are cheap and, therefore, it sounds cheap. So, it's not about AUX input, but the actual units. I've had WinCE, early Androids, later ones and now Andream MMI. I mainly listen to radio and notice lower quality with all of these compared to stock units. Again, I'm not an audiophile (you got that hint from me listening to radio!), so it's OK for me.
All of these are disposable units in a sense that the manufacturers just move on to put a new skin, market new chips, wrap it in nicer bow and call it next model and you won't get any support for yours except from other users on the forums. Again, not necessarily a deal breaker and all depends on your use case for these.

So it sounds like Mr12Volt is the way to go for the best audio quality possible. Let’s see what Lowrydr310 says about his CIC unit and maybe I’ll just retrofit it and go from there.

Put my winter wheels and tires on and took that opportunity to adjust the parking brake since it was way too loose...works way better now.

I had the place check it over and they noted my front control arm bushings starting to get a bit soft and front shocks are not perfect but

I had these 4 tires matched to the rims and road forced to less than 10lbs per assembly here.

When I put the front wheels in the back the vibration eased a lot but it’s now in the floor and back of seat at higher speeds.

I’ll take it back to recheck the wheels and tires just to be sure soon.

Removed many plastic panels in the rear of the car one by one to diagnose a weird plastic ish metal rattle by the C pillar I think. Still testing.

Also replaced the plastic clips that hold the dash wood trim to fix a tiny plastic noise when it would start to back out against the ac panel.

No, at least I don't think so. The problem is you need ICOM/MOST not just a K+DCAN or enet cable. Apparently updating software on any of the modules on the MOST bus will either not work with a K+DCAN cable or it'll take a ridiculously long time. I didn't want to bother so I found a CIC on eBay for $100.

If you're still interested in messing with it you can have it to experiment, just cover shipping.

I don’t know why but because it’s more challenging, it makes me the more interested. I think in some way I need to see a psychologist. Anyway.. I’ll message you my address. I’m totally interested!

Shipped and payment received. Enjoying that beer right now. Cheers! Hope you can get it working. It's C10 firmware. Apparently script activation can be used, but the patcher is by far the easiest method (only on C1A). Next up for my 330 is a combox to replace the TCU/MULF.

I also have an updated CCC unit too if anyone is interested. Same deal, just cover shipping. I used it to replace a dead CCC before I upgraded to CIC. This is the newest CCC with single CD/DVD slot.

Thanks Wolf. I tried both those suggestions, no joy. I even removed the struts entirely, same. Now I have the entire dash out and about to fall into a whole new rabbit hole (thread to follow).

Good luck with that. My e92 had a creak almost squeak at the dash to windshield I think area when the body twisted. Impossible to figure out.

I imagine it has something to do with compressing the attachment points for the speaker grill or wood trim but maybe it’s internal

Finally put my front wheels on. Now to find a suitable set for this car.

Also got my new headlight lenses on. A slight task, but not too bad.
