Definitely worth not having to worry about cutting two driveshafts up and welding etc. But that comes with a price tag 😂

Heater fan was starting to make some noise, so disassembled and put some T9 on the shaft. Hopefully some will leak down to the bearings. Rattle is officially gone, but don't know for how long.

Best tutorial I found:

Found some interior trim at the junkyard $40 and got rid of the IMO ugly wood 😂 (center dash trim isn't in yet going back to find 2 clips for it)

It's an easy part to access, and replacements are cheap. So if this doesn't last me those two and a half years, that's okay.

I pretty much have the fan going all the time so it's allowed to wear out after 18 years!

It got a long overdue washing today for the holidays. While I was at it, I pulled out the pen and loose change that slid into the vent under the drivers seat. Are penny stocks still a thing? Just asking for a friend.

Today I picked up a set of brand new Valeo headlamps. Went with pre-LCI too because LCI assemblies would look weird in my opinion.

Brand new pre-LCI Valeo halogen assembly. Not sure what this little part is. Only thing I could notice between Valeo assemblies and all aftermarket assemblies is this vent thing plus side marker plug color. Maybe it is a one-way valve on Valeo and an open tube on aftermarket? I noticed my car has one aftermarket lamp (L) and one Valeo lamp (R). The aftermarket already looks about like the Valeo but the Valeo is 16 years old. Also, the aftermarket lamp has a bug that crawled into the space between the amber accent and lamp housing. The OG Valeo assembly still looks better.

Couldn't stay clean for 5 minutes especially with a fresh wax 😂

In things I did today: installed a peak designs wireless charging mount. Took an hour to route the cables I bought for it (wanted it as clean as possible) but alas it's in.

Excuse the mess. And no that's not a shooter. Its aftershave to put on after the barber 😂

Over the last few days:

Replaced the E46’s entire cooling system. Don’t have the belts/pulleys on hand but it’s super easy to work on the M54. All OE BMW parts. New radiator, expansion tank, hoses, fan clutch, orings, ETC. Doing this once. Original radiator lasted 20 years / 200K miles, figured that was the way to go. Also needs a new battery, putting that in too. Control arms are scheduled for 1/7.

It will also need an oil pan gasket soon as it’s starting to drip. Not bad after 200K miles (original OPG).

Replaced the E90s power steering pump & belts/tensioner. Moaning noise at low speeds is still there. Will be doing motor mounts in the new year. Only other thing it could be is the alternator, and as I have an early-ish N55 the only option is OE BMW for $700. So really hope it isn’t that.
