Off to Kenny-U-Pull tomorrow to see if that 2011 323I has a Footwell module still in it to replace mine. Been running one that does not allow my DRL or Highbeams to work, but ... I can change lanes without causing chaos and my windows work.
Not to all.....FRM has service note, extended warranty 15 years 300,000 KM... wish I has known, or been able to find this info before I before I tossed mine for another from a wreck |

Mission success!!!!
-19* in Ottawa today, so there was not crowd at Kenny -u-Pull. First in the door, there was a new arrival yesterday, and I was hoping the cold would keep the Pro's away. There is quite a cottage industry out there for Footwell modules. https://kennyupull.com/part/bmw-323-...ottawa-939412/ I was first hands on with this, and I was hoping the FRM would be a plug and play solution to get my high beams back. Pulled it out, bonus, there is a special running on electronic modules, so it only cost me $50 Canadian... Got home, swapped it out....signals, check, windows, check...high beams...check. One happy camper! |

Replaced the RDC (TPMS) module with the newest revision and coded it on the 2011 today. Could have just unplugged it and recoded the car to use FTM, but preferred to replace.
I didn't have any tire pressure warnings or other errors showing on the dash, but the K-CAN modules were intermittently storing codes. It started with the JBE, CAS, KOMBI and eventually spread to the Combox days later. The Combox stored over 255 codes in 6 hours, while the RDC triggered one code a week later. They stopped once I unplugged the RDC as part of troubleshooting. D908 JBE: K-CAN Line Fault D104 RDC: K-CAN Line Fault D904 CAS: K-Can Line Fault E147 Combox: Area network line fault E184 RAD2: K-CAN line Fault E104 KOMBI: K-CAN line Fault The module and pins didn't have any outside corrosion, but I'm sure it's corroded inside. For those of you in salt states, a good idea to wash under the splash shield in the right/rear. The little drain holes let a lot of water/salt in. This is how salty the module looked after an undercarriage wash. Terrible location for a module, but at least it's easy to access. |
