On things I did to the 328 today:
•Restored the headlights
•Replaced the fog lights with ones Ive had sitting in a box for two years
•Peaked into the airbox ram air inlet, discovered I am indeed past due for a filter
•Compared brakes to the 330. They're indeed tiny, and I can't wait to get rid of them
Search “pen holder” or “phone credit card holder” on Amazon….literally hundreds to choose from. Here is a QR code link to what I bought…

Who is E93Guy?

I included the QR code above as a bit of light hearted humor, which you will note if you scan it. As far as the links, here they are. But as I already said there are hundreds to choose from on Amazon and I barely gave it a thought. I’m doing fine lately, how are you?

Replaced the "leak detector pump" filters on both cars. Hoping this may cure the gas pump handle clicking off prematurely. Also replaced the rear sway bar end links on the grey car.

Swapped the vanos solenoids on the N55. Issue seems to have resolved. Think it might have been a dirty connector. Time I think to bid it farewell.

On the F10, got a check engine light. Outside tempature sensor fault. Weird as it works fine. Cleared all the faults, if it comes back I’ll replace the sensor / check the wiring. Very odd.

It could. I anecdotally believe that after I replaced that part I had fewer premature pump cut-offs (hummmmmmmm) than before I replaced it. Let us know.

One thing that definitely changed was that I no longer had the very audible motor sound every single time I turned off the car. The replacement pump was much more quiet such that I seldom know when it turns on.

literally just got a E92 335i and I ordered a set of Bosch OE wipers, the passenger side is one inch too long. Does anyone have a link for the correct size wiper blades?

I've been avoiding this site because I've been grumpy and getting annoyed by new users posting things like "help! my car is making a funny sound I don't know what's wrong but figured you guys could tell me!" That and the $23K 335 for sale with tan standard seats, and the TURBO 330 post. Also busy trying to start a small business along with a new motorcycle project.

As for what I did to my car? Bought a new bank of index 12 injectors for the 335, but didn't install them yet. I can't find the removal tool that I bought (and used) last year. One of my last remaining index 9 injectors is ticking when cold, and not leaking but seems to be metering too much fuel.

My 330 picked up a HUGE bolt that punctured the tire. I'd have patched it but it was a bit too close to the edge of the tread. $350 for a single Pilot Sport 4S installed... Got the set for just under $1000 last year, no sale this time. The rear brake sensor is well worn into the first stage and chirping as it rubs the disc, MM says 700 miles until I need new pads. Says 1200 for the front so I'll probably just do both axles in a month or so, thinking of using dusty ole Textar pads to change things up. Right now there are Akebonos up front and OE BMW pads in the rear.

Got lucky and fixed the misfire I was having with new coils. Took the opportunity to clean the nooks and crannys of the engine bay with all the plastic covers off.

Had a worrying grinding/scraping noise but realized it was from all the corrosion on the brakes from not cleaning the car after a salty trip to Tahoe...

A little bit of driving got the noise to disappear and everything is looking good with the transfer case after a fluid change and adaptation reset. The car is ready for a good trip!

Have been enjoying having awesome sound from the CIC retrofit and combox bluetooth connection. Cleaning up the protective glass on the cluster and CIC certainly makes the car feel newer. CIC is clear and crisp, its great on the eyes compared to the CCC

yeah, I did the conversion too, mainly for the individual audio, but CCC to CIC was a nice visual upgrade.

It's not night and day if you solely using idrive, but I got those cheap MMI box to get android auto/carplay and having this better cic screen resolution makes the experience 2020-era-like

I mentioned earlier that with the 2023 maps it helps me ride it out a little longer, however you're 100% right and it was another reason why I wanted to upgrade to CIC. Mr12volt on CCC, or really any box for that matter, did not look good at all. Adding a MMI box will be the end goal.

From CCC gen 1, CiC absolutely is night n day.
Better menus, better organized, Not waiting almost a second per controller input, having 8 memory buttons for easy function access, HDD stored music, And working maps so you can go places and get home, lol!
I also did it because I wanted the DVD playback.
Sucks CiC can’t playback from usb stick like NBT can.

Besides funds, What hold me back from doing CiC Mmi, is that I have kept 1st gen force feedback two button CCC controller. Not sure I’d be able to switch modes.

Which ever one I do, I want the non wired aux /BT audio version. That’s what’s in my f31.

I saw only 1 video stating the ccc controller will work with cic. so should work with the addition of a mmi box...

I don’t jsut have the ccc controller, I have the first year first gen force feedback two button unit, the ones with the solid aluminum dials… not willing to change it, best idrive knob they ever created, only the nbt ceramic comes close.

Thats a good question because if you hit menu does it kick you out of MMI? since you don't have the back button how would you return to the previous screen without leaving the MMI completely?

Also how you like the knob? I have the none haptic one and was considering switching to the haptic one but a lot of people are not fans of the haptic feature. I do like the look and feel that the haptic feature would be interesting.

When you go CIC the force feedback ceases working. It’s much better without it.
I think they did that because ccc version 1 was so slow it couldn’t keep up if they let you spin the knob. FF forces you to go one click at a time. Without it, and on something newer/faster, it is better.
The sheer mass of it is fantastic, as is the feel of it compared to the plastic ones or the CIC knobs.

Re the limitations of it… I get stuck playing BMWs The Hire because of the lack of a back button. Had to eject it and put it back in to get out of the playback or be able to choose another chapter/episode.
