Is it safe to apply Zaino or other form of wax protection to the newly painted splitters? Thanks.

since the paint is new it shouldn't be necessary, however, you can put zaino on it if you want to.

Smile

Received the splitters at around 4:00pm.
I was done installing them at around 4:30pm.
Thank you, Bavdom!

So how was everything? Here I go:

1. Installation: easy and simple
2. Splitters:
Fitment: Excellent, no more to add.
Material: Good at best because of irregularities in thickness, etc. Right-side spliter has thicker edges compared to the left one.
Paint: Good at best because one edge were not painted at all. It's the sharp edge that points toward the center of bumper
3. My car: Looks EXCELLENT, and better than ever. Even the the splitters are not produced 100% of my satisfaction, with them on, my car looks great.
4. Overall satisfaction: I am happy. I just hope that Bavdom works on the things that I've mentioned here. Mainly, use of better quality material(or is it workmanship) and better paint job.

Again, thank you Bavdom. I hope you take my inputs to improve the quality of your products.
I will post some photos soon.

+1 on the comments by hyi1976 - we definitely are getting an oem-look, just not oem-quality - maybe the carbon fiber ones were of better quality than the PURim ones? Overall I'm happy, but the wait combined with a not perfect end-product put me on the fence...

Mine will be installed Monday with my rear spoiler and Eibach springs - I'll post pics after installation...

Hmm, OEM quality was what I was after: I will reserve judgement/comment until mine actually arrive, but if they turn out to be like hyi1976's, I will not be happy! I would not, for example, accept that unpainted inner edge.

I just had a look at mine, they are not fitted on to my car yet so I'll reserve judgement on fitment at this time.

Overall, the paintwork looks good, I am quite happy with that. They pieces look decently nice.

However, I am not 100% satisfied with the unpainted inner edges though and I feel bavdom should certainly make a note of this for future products. This small design/manufacturing oversight is keeping this product from being a home run. Aside from painting the inner edges, I'd also recommend finishing or beading the edges (smoother edges) for a more refined product. The beaded edges would definitely make the product appear to fit well.

I am planning to do the same. I just gotta be careful since the splitters are already installed.

So after spending 5 friggin hours detailing my car, I was looking forward to installing these splitters today.

Paint job seemed fine for the most part, but there was some very minor scuffing here and there. It didn't really bother me since the splitters fit on the bottom of the bumper and will get abused by the road anyway. Like others, I wasn't pleased with the inside edges not being painted.

Anyway I proceded to install the passenger side first. An initial fitment test showed that the outer upper edge (toward the wheel) bowed outwards. I thought maybe the tape and bolts would help with this but it didn't. The tape is very flimsy and does a poor job sticking. I couldn't even get the bolts to screw back on after fiddling for half an hour.

I took a break and then tried the driver's side which installed within 5 minutes. Fitment was much better, and the bolts screwed in just fine, but the splitter didn't hug the bumper as close as I would like. Again, the tape was pretty much useless.

Back to the passenger side, I spent another hour lieing on my back this time trying to get the damn bolts inserted. Trying to slide the splitter outerside-in or innerside-out made no difference. It appears that the bottom of the splitter too thick for adequate bolt insertion. GREAT

So it looks like glue is required to get a tighter fitment... which is something I really wanted to avoid in case these ever crack and need replacing (or when parting out the car before selling). Quite a disappointing experience

Sears Hardware took care of that problem for me. I used new screws and washers to put on.

Please post your opinion once you have installed them. The general feeling of disappointment I'm seeing here is kind of worrying...

To all those who have already received their splitters: if you had known at the time of purchase what you know now (re. quality), would you have paid $200 for these?

Damn, 2.5 months' wait and they're not up to scratch

Few Vendors doesn't take QC very serious lately. Was that the Group Buy to be blame as they producing in bulk therefore rushing the production ?

I don't understand what is going on. Are the entire splitters to judge just because we missed 1/8 of an inch in paint from the inner corner? This is the first batch that came out of this mold. We tried to get these out as soon as possible for you since most of you were wanting these since November (trendix). We take your feedback serious and we work on it. But what you guys are stressing about can easily be fixed.

I understand as customers you want a perfect product, and that is what we strive for, that is why we learn from what you say to us. However, if minor things come up like the stock bolts are too short, do what BMWOWNSME did, if we missed the small thin line in the center let us know about it and we'll see if we can do something to work it out. just4kickz has a great idea. I know it is our fault. But please don't judge the entirety of the product on that one thin line.

We are a company that ships more parts than you can imagine, and we have customers call back and say that the shipping company damaged the product or something. They contact us and we happily take care of it.

We strive for quality, we strive for you.

Ok guys this is what I did regarding the bolt screws not able to scew in under the new splitters. I took the stock bolt screw to Sears hardware and matched it with a phillips head screw slightly longer that the stock bolt(stainless steel only).I then fitted four of them to stainless steel washers. Worked perfectly and only cost about 3 bucks. Simple. Also the passenger side splitter does not sit flush near the center of the bumper. I used a dab of betalink on that edge and used "THE CLUB" to hold it in place against the ground. Kind of ghetto, but the only way to reduce that gap. Good luck guys.
