just installed COBB stage 1 tune on the wife's WRX STi. car should be making around 342 hp and 340 lb-ft of torque now (thats 40 more than my RS!)... drove it round the block a few times. biggest difference is how much more torque the car has down low. all the power used to come in around 4.5k rpm, now you get feel the power as early as 3k rpm.

Did you try laying some patches? Curious. I had a tough time breaking free without, turning off DTC, reving to over 4K and popping the clutch. A little autumn humidity usually does the trick. Did you succeed?

i will try. considering its 4 wheel drive, i have been finding it hard to make the tires break loose even when its wet. probably need to rev it a little more. unlike the 911 which breaks loose even when its perfectly dry.

the turbo boost is addictive though. never owned a turbo car before. its definitely fun when the turbo starts to spool up.

You need to turn off the traction nannies, rev to about 4k-ish and pop the clutch. It'll spin. I did it a few times in the 335xi. If damp easy.

yea i didnt turn off the traction nannies but the yellow TC light didnt even come on even when doing hard launches. i wonder if its working in the background and only comes on when its cutting a lot of power.

oh and stage 2 tune with a simple turbo back exhaust and a new intake makes 390 hp/400 torque... i wished i can gain 90 hp on the RS as easy as that... i think i am becoming a turbo convert.

Forced induction is pretty funky. Especially the torque. Nasty if it doesnt kick in gradually. I miss it a lot. The M3 S54 engine is definately missing torque. I'm wishing for a little HP but mostly the torque. I'll due a custom tune on next year if I have the budget.

You had juice box on yours right? How much boost were you running with their maps?

mobile vehicle inspection

I'm looking at purchasing a 5 series in Montreal. I know this is the wrong forum but there's more action over here.

I'm looking for a mobile vehicle inspection service to have the vehicle inspected. Anyone know of anyone that does this in the Montreal area.
I'm in Toronto

Thanks

I'm not sure I would have enough faith in someone unless they could pop her up on a lift. I haven't heard of anything like that before. I'm sure you could arrange for the car to be sent to a reputable place here in town to have it inspected. Good luck.

Hehehehe. Turbo + flash tunes are pretty fun.

Btw - I am selling the suspension off my 335xi if anyone is interested (H&R springs and Bilstein shocks). See here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=758291

wow thats actually pretty low. peak boost with the stage 1 Cobb on the STI is 17.5 psi... i guess that straight 6 engine allows you to make more power with lower boost pressures.
