even without this being "up to date" this still helped out a lot for someone who doesn't scour the forum everyday

thanks for all the time you saved me

Who has the best fuel economy of all the tuners being compared here?

Knowing that tuners aim for a margin of safety with their tunes by running them richer than OEM,which company has the best gas mileage with say a stage 1+ tune(race gas tune) without any other modification?
I realize that it also depends on how many WOT runs you do per tankful!

That's a tough one to answer, when most tunes go for output power, and it will all depend on how the driver is, fuel mix, etc.. That's what is great about turbo cars, if you keep you foot out of it you can get great gas mileage even tuned.

Since I only have tried COBB, I can't really give a great answer. But if great gas mileage is what you are looking for, I say your best bet is going pro tuned! With the goal of best mpgs

With a few WOT and daily commute, S1+ E50, Pro E-Tune by PTF. I just calculated 18+ mpgs. Not the best, but not bad for 400 whp.

So basically, with your Cobb tune, you lost roughly 3-4 MPGs compared to stock.
18 Mpg is very respectable for the power you have gained!

In theory yes. But that was just one calculation. I was impressed myself. I am driving far next week so I wil see how freeway mpgs go.

PTF is ProTuningFreaks, right? Did they Email you a custom tune?
Unfortunately,Here in LA,I don't have access for flex fuels like E50 and E85 and E30;At least not readily!

Yes, it's a matter of WOT logs and they send you MAPs based upon your logs, and repeat till complete.

I just looked and there are 7 E85 pump stations in the LA area. I have a few within 5 - 10 miles, so I am fortunate. Try Propel Fuels, they are based west coast. that is what I use.

I'm in the San Fernando Valley, unfortunately!
Do you need to convert anything to run on alternative fuels on our cars?

Ideally, yes, but the N54 is highly capable to run up to 50% Ethanol. But you must have a proper tune. another poster on this forum, i believe it was on the COBB thread a few pages back. He has the flex sensor installed with proceed tune. which will automatically adjust the DME per the ethanol percentages. It was interesting that he was getting inconsistent ethanol mixture rates from the same pumps. That's why every fill up i do at least 1 log to check how my car is running.

New here….but need help selecting right (safest) tune to blow the doors off my D-bag neighbor with new Vet (not Z06). I don't have any other mods yet.

think I would prefer flash over PiggyBack.

thanks in advance for any advise!
