What is the BB tool? Bavarian Technic? BT?

From what i hear, the BT tool can't flash custom files.

Bavarian Technic cable, with Bimmer*Boost flash. It does checksum correction too!

Approx 40% less. Many owners already have a BT cable too.

Or-
The MHD flash uses the cheapo cable but is a licensed android app.

BMWLogger file

Finally got BMWLogger working again and grabbed a quick bit of data.

Anybody want to look at this excel file and see what's going on, if anything?

Yeah, the cam timing definitely needs adjustment! It might take a couple rounds of adjustment/dyno to get it right.

Definitely start with the manufacturer's reccomended setting - but I'd err on the side of retarding it a bit more, because you can always advance it, but the stock tune already maxes out how retarded you can be and that's where you'll see top end gains.

You mean mechanically retarding the cam(s)?

I'm sure that's what he's saying. There is more room for using the DME to advance the cams, so installing them retarded a few degrees (since the current map settings have them maxed out) would allow for more top end power.

Got it. I'm slow but I get there. Eventually. Thanks y'all.

Uploaded the wrong datalog file last time, sorry about that...

This one has the long idle and then wrapped up through the gears to about 70mph, probably a lot more useful.

Yeah but we know why now. Between mechanically retarding the intake cam and correcting the plant model parameters for the cams in the DME rom we'll see what it can really do. Science experiments are kinda like this...but they're still a pita. Come to think of it so are science experiments...

The only reason your other cam installs weren't a PITA is because you weren't the pioneer

Never did a cam install before, was talking about real science experiments.

It's really about 270-275hp with an 80% driveline efficiency and 215-219hp at the rear wheel and we're expecting, eventually, a 10% increase so that'll take it to close to 300hp but it may be limited by other factors like the manifold design as hass as observed.

Sorry, misunderstood your pm earlier.

hm, Ill show you how I came up to that conclusion. Lets call it 217 at the wheels on a dynodynamic Well, they read 12% lower than d.jet
so 12%*217=26.04 which equals 243 whp on a dynojet.

Now driveline loss is around 20% so 20%*243=48.6

So the estimated crank HP is 243+48.6=291 hp

I could be totally off, but thats how I got my number ha
