Looks really smart. Superb idea colour coding the rails, right down the window too.

Looks good buddy.
The roof rails make all the difference as doesn't look right when they are left colour coded. That's why I did mine when I had the CF roof panel fitted. Look forward to more updates.

Hi Calluhan,
I own a 330D E92 since 2007. I also blanked the swirl flaps when they started leaking around 87K km. I was wondering did you keep in place the vacuum box activating the swirl flaps or did you remove it? As it is controlled by an electric valve i m afraid to get code removing it... Thanks and congrats for your very interesting thread |

I (and I think most people). Leave it in place. That satisfies the ecu that its operating. Can't see any benefit in going to the effort of removing it

If the electric valve is not monitored, we could remove it. I asked this question as the best mean to blank the flaps is to swap the intake manifold by the one of a 325D manual transmission. The cons is there is no place to put the vacuum box on this new intake manifold.
But if you know the ECU need it and will cause codes, i've my answer. I didn't want to experiment it as removing the intake manifold takes so much time....you know what i'm talking about. |

So time for a bit of loving after a few months of neglect.
Snow-foamed using my new pressure washer attachment - fantastic way to clean a car (some pics of this coming) Touchless drying using one of these: Then some more collinite added: Now for some blatant picture whoring..... More to come...... Last edited by Calluhan; 07-03-2016 at 12:37 PM.. |

That's exactly what i've done. And now with the 325D intake, no more blanking plates leaking in the future. Still reading your thread with pleasure, E92 and M57 engine are just a very pleasant and efficient choice. |

I think i'll try to disconnect it the next time i'd need to remove the intake manifold. I'll only let the electric valve connected. One time this electric valve made a "duck" noise (after an intake removal) each time releasing the gas pedal but it only lasted few days. No other effect, only this strange noise.
