Wtf, I got my car dynoed this weekend and the best it ever put down was 346rwhp and 420rwtq. I'm pretty much FBO (AA downpipes, VRSF IC, jb4 g5 ISO with 35% e85.)
While my torque isn't too bad, I'm pissed that my hp #s are so low. Going to send some logs to terry to make sure everything is running right.

Dyno request
Please excuse me if I missed this but does anyone have a dyno of a 1M/335is fbo. I'm curious if the extra cooling makes any difference in performance. Thanks

just curious as to why some people are putting down almost 100hp difference with almost the exact same mods and fuel mix.
ive got an 09 6MT coupe 47k miles. so far have added jb4 g5 (map5), bms 3" downpipes, intake valves walnut blasted, bms dci, vrsf 7" fmic (shipping in a couple weeks). anyways what would be some "realistic" numbers to expect with this setup if i did about a 70/30 93oct/e85? Seems like reading through this thread i could expect anything from around 340whp-420whp thanks for any input

You can't really compare numbers from different dyno runs & different dynos. Mustang usually reads lower then DynoJet.
Even with the same make, dynos at different locations car generate different readings, so it best to do a baseline then a moded run on the same machine as close together as possible & use the delta to tell you if you are going in the right direction. For what its worth my best on a Dynojet was 319whp stock 94 octane, 375whp with a JB4 335is Map 6, best torque was 414wtq. this was on a 95/96 octane mix. Car has a JB4 & ETS 5” FMIC. Just started to experiment with E85 & have a 35% mix with 93 octane. No dyno yet but the mid ranges feel stronger. I hate the “feels stronger'” stuff because there could be some placebo effect in there so will wait for a dyno run before I decide to swap racing gas for E85.

i know until i actually put this thing on the dyno (just waiting for fmic) i will not know but if you had to guess, what would be a realistic estimate on dynojet with the mods listed. thanks

Its hard to say but it does not look like the torque & horsepower numbers are in sync. Torque number looks in the ballpark for your setup & is higher then mine.
Since you have a JB4 the best plan is to take a log & email it in to Terry. He is very good at trouble shooting any issues with the tune. Helped me a lot.

Here is my comparison with ecu re-flash I did and the JB4 that was dialed in on the car. Same peak number, but check the power from 5k to 7k.
Dynos can be very different, conditions too, weather, iat, fuel, etc. My car made 321whp on a dyno dynamics dyno and the same exact tune made 353whp on a dynojet dyno. Its best to get a base line before you start modding and use the same dyno for all future changes and the gains over the base line tell the true story. I also like acceleration runs on the street. I can calculate out hp and torque easily from a 60-90mph run in third gear. That is my true test :-) JZW |

COBB Stage 1 + FMIC numbers
Just incase anyone wanted to see some numbers from a Dyno of a Stage 1 + FMIC COBB tune...here is the chart. I plan to post numbers after I install catted downpipes and add the COBB Stage 2 + FMIC map.

AltecBX- Great work on the comparison chart. Do you think you could add "number of cars in the 10s". Running 11s is so 2010
Also might be a good idea to put a section about vbox times since that is becoming a very popular performance test. Maybe "Quickest 6AT 60-130" and "Quickest 6MT 60-130"? |

thought I would share my dyno #'s with you guys not as though this is anything new.
went in a few weeks ago and got my baseline #'s so we cant have a legit comparison of before and after. baseline 294whp/305 wt was running car on 92 oct fuel only .this was with mods on the car. after tune 440whp/503wt this dyno run was done on a 50/50 e85 mix with 90% meth.4th gear pulls ER fmic, ER charge pipe 2 meth bungs, hfs4 meth kit cobb AP ,with pro tune by dzenno at ptf. first of all I want to give dzenno huge props for a great job and in my opinion being very attentive to details even though he has been super busy the last month or so helping on the vargas tt upgrades. great job guy's!!!! my main reason for this post is to just tell people if you are on the fence about cobb or getting a pro tune by PTF. I cant recommend them enough ! car runs great and very smooth acceleration NOT TO MENTION FAST AS HELL.i tried like a lot of people to tune my own with atr but these guys really know what there doing .tune is not 100%done but very close so who knows might even pick up a couple more hp thanks again dzenno great job also a to marv for the gift !!!! |
