OK I see that you are using LC. I just feather a 2nd gear start with a blocked out WOT downshift. Also playing around dropping boost levels a few PSI in 1st & 2nd gears. The reason I asked is it looked in the vid that the other car got out quicker even though it was slower.

I can see your strategy with LC & running down a slower car but how do you think it would do against a car with equal quickness?

BTW My new tires have shipped from Tire Rack today & hope to have the RFT's off later this week. Will get to Rockingham late April when the ground warms up & my back yard project gets done.

I have the JB4 1st gear limited to 11 psi. I used the launch technique yesterday and got pretty consistent times, to the point where I made it to the bracket racing championship out of 31 cars. I was getting consistent 2.0 60's and trapping above 110. Tires are a big deal, The Eagle F1s I have are much better than the RFT. Once I launch, then I floor it in first, so I get almost no wheelspin with these new tires and first gear limited to 11 psi. There is way too much bog launching in 2nd gear on this car.

That AMG was launching at 4k+ RPMs while I was launching at 2500 RPMs, so that is why. Simular issue when up against some mustangs that pulled out 1.7 and 1.8 60' but I picked them down

Traction and and going deeper on the throttle on the start.

The key is to get out of 1st gear ASAP. Dont red line 1st gear. We have DCT no need to start in second gear.

This is my shifting points

1st / 5-5500
2nd / 6700
3rd / 5-5500
4th / 6700

I can literally spin tires in 1st gear - 3rd gear with no interuption

1) 2007 e92 steptronic 67k miles.
2) 50 degrees
3) jb4+DCI map 2
4) Level of gas ran and how much gas in the tank? half tank 93+e85 (70/30ish)
5) Any weight reduction done to the car?? none
4) Type of tires and rims?? stock size CSL reps + continental DW
5) Years of driving the type of transmission?? experienced in drag racing auto and manual

It was cold so traction was horrible. Launching in second was even bad, but i did ok i guess. I ran a few 13.0's and a 12.9 but this run was my best.

Looking at your logs, its looks like you're shifting way too late. Are you running to redline?

Didn't see this thread until just now. Previously posted track results in the Florida hometown section.

1) 2009 335i with Automatic Transmission.
2) 21 feet above sea level. Temp: 85-91*, Humidity between 36-61% throughout the day.
3) JB4 and BMS DCI.
4) Initial runs with straight 93 octane, less than 1/4 tank. Later runs with 100 octane, 1/4 tank.
5) No weight reduction.

Best run of the day on straight 93 octane, Map 5 and a 2nd gear launch was a 12.643 @ 110.42. Best run using a 1st gear launch was 13.111 @ 108.00 on a 2.044 60'.

First run with the 100 octane was done on Map 5 and yielded a 12.650 @ 110.39. The best run on Map 5 with 100 octane was a 12.553 @ 111.60.

The first run on Map 7 was a 12.797 @ 106.75 on a 1.975 60'. The run started out great and I had high hopes for a great run. However, right around the 1/8 mile mark the car fell on its face and boost dropped to 10 psi. Best run of the day was also the last run. Ran it on Map 7 and pulled a 12.519 @ 112.77 mph on a 1.979 60'.
