How soon do you need it? I'll be replacing my bumper in the next month or so, and I can save the OEM one if anyone wants it. It's JB but it probably needs a respray due to rock chips. In good shape though, other than that. If you or anyone wants it, just shoot me an offer and I'll have New Concepts save it for you when they do the swap.

Not sure if they do DP/mod installs but for regular maintenance and service I go to Freddy at Bimmer Motor Werks on Walnut Hill in Dallas. He's quick, knows what he's doing, and doesn't overcharge. I also used to use Dallas Auto Sports on Garland Road when I had my E39, although I'm fairly certain they don't do aftermarket installs. Good guys, though, and very reasonable rates.

thanks but I ended up not needed it. Originally I was going to source the parts for my body guy to repair my car (got in an accident). But decided to just take to classic, since insurance is covering it anyways. My oil pan gasket is leaking too so need them to fix that too.

What are you mounting on the car? I need to go see Bruce with my car. He waned to see how close my CSL trunk matched without a blend.

You're a Cannon shooter correct? I seem to think your exif data showed Canon when I looked last month. I'm considering picking up a 16-35l Wife wants a 35l prime. We have 24 and 50mm L glass, but it seems we keep wanting to be some where between that. I told her to use the 24 and shoot with my body, but she doesn't like the full size body. Any thoughts?

I'm getting an M3 rep front. Probably back, too, but one thing at a time, haha.

I need to lower the damn car, too. It's embarrassing.

And yes, I'm a Canon shooter. I absolutely LOVE the 16-35L. Hands down my favorite lens. I do a lot of wide angle, though. You'll be using it on a full frame sensor, right? If you're wanting to go wide on a crop sensor, check out the Tokina 11-16 2.8. That's what I used to use on my backup 7d body when the 16-35 wasn't cutting it. I've also used their 16-28 2.8 on the 5d and I would actually say that it is almost indistinguishable from the 16-35L as far as image quality is concerned (build quality of the L is where your extra ~$500 is going). I have image samples from all of those lenses on a variety of bodies if you're interested.

I don't use wide angle much for car photography (mostly due to lens distortion under 24mm). I usually use the 24-70 or 24-105 for cars and people. But for dogs it's wide angle or go home

One thing to keep in mind on these ultra wide-angle lenses is that filters for the 16-35 are an odd size and are harder to find, and the Tokinas don't take filters at all.

What are you shooting? Landscapes? Animals?

Was considering the M3 front/rears. But have had a terrible experience historically with after-market bumpers. (Toyota world) So far, I've been impressed with the fitment of after-market on the 335. I'll be sure to stalk your car when it's at the bodyshop. I've actually put pen & paper to a full OEM 'conversion'. But then I quickly realized it'd be cheaper to put an N54 in a real M3 body than convert it.

Thanks for the detailed response! We have a pretty good L glass collection here. (50 1.2, 24 1.4, 70-200 2.8 IS, 24-105 and 100 2.8 macro) Long story short, but the Rebel XTI pissed us off about 3 years ago and we fixed the problem along with a 5d II and 7d at the time. Earlier this year, just as the 5d III hit the market, we dumped the 5d II and 7d shortly there after. She got a new 5d III and I picked up a smoking deal on a gently used 1d IV. We don't *need* this equipment, but also like the comfort in knowing that if the shot doesn't turn out, it's 100% our fault!

I'll be wanting the 16-35l for landscape, interior, shots/etc. I photographed the birth of our little boy about 4 months ago and wished for something wider as the delivery room was pretty tight.

We will likely do a 24-70 and replace the 24-105 at some point. 85 1.2 and 35 1.4 are also on our wish lists. We'll likely sell off the 24. 1.4 if we get the 35. The 85 1.2 might not ever happen. It's a ton of cash and just one we won't use much.

I have a set of 2012 DVDs for CIC that I used to update my own car. You'll need a FSC code to update.

SO I know this is like beating a dead horse, but can someone recommend a tint shop to me in the Metroplex.

I am trying to decide between Llumar, 3M and Huper Optiks at the moment. Any help is appreciated. I have heard of Alta Mere and Frisco Tint so far as reputable.

I have had good experiences at both ProTint (Plano) and Tritek (Richardson). Neither option is the cheapest out there, but I was very happy with the job they did and the quality of materials used.
