NGK of the mini cooper S work as well apparently but would not use those on such low boost and power.

The v203 and v301 maps make the exact same power. We've been busy doing some other testing this week, but hopefully we'll have a dyno plot soon to illustrate this! Most likely the feel difference is related to the throttle mapping.
For those that prefer the feel of the v203 maps, are your cars auto or manual? Ian |

is 203v1 throttle mapping any different from v301 v1? ive also tried the 301 linear map but its too sluggish for auto so im probably going back to v203 unless you guys come up with new maps |

In no way, shape or form am i bashing Cobb or the tune, i love everything they've done so far and am eagerly awaiting future development, but i also want the "old" stock throttle map back. Rob or Ian, please test drive 203 and 301 stock throttle maps and then come back and try say there is no difference between the throttle maps. |

+1 on having Cobb compare v203 to v301 stock throttle. They are very different tunes. Do like v301 for predictability, smoothness, less jerkiness, lurching, however there is a huge difference in raw power off the line on an AT car against v203. I keep going back and forth and keep getting the same result.

So, I would like to try out the dyno simulation tool using the AP. I don't see it listed in the Performance section (only 0-60 mph and 1/4 mi are there)...Am I looking in the wrong area?
I'm currently on the latest beta firmware. |

Cobb BETA stage II
If you are running the stage II/stage II+ maps should you be running the BETA Firmware updates? Or are the maps working fine with the 301 Firmware?

high altitude operation Q's
Just installed a Cobb on a 2009 e92 xi AT. BMS DCI. Running 91 octane + 1/2 can octane boost. v301 sport stock. Really enjoying it. I was playing with data display and got a peak boost of 17.9 PSI, at low RPM's. Car was warmed up (oil temp over 200) but not hot. Was not logging but I will try to replicate this.
So my Q's: 1) Does the boost target PSI above ambient, or is the actual quantity targeted MAP, and then boost displayed derived from MAP-ambient? The point is at my altitude (7500 ft up to 12k ft) ambient is 25% or more lower than sea level. So just about 3 lbs.... Issue here is turbos must work much harder at altitude to create a target MAP....not so hard to target boost above ambient. Perhaps related but I also took a run up to the top of a local pass, ambient @ 7500 ft was 60 deg F, at 11k it was 50 deg F. Got into the gas a little but not a lot (loads of cops and construction), anyway oil temps were approaching 250 at the top, has NEVER gotten past 240 before even with spirited driving at these altitudes, in summer temps. Also the car ticks up on oil temp much faster warming up even before getting into boost, just tooling around @ 50 deg F ambient. 2) So the Q here is has anything been done in the tune to thermostat logic for the oil cooler? I don't know if it can be. It may also be the DCI. Oh and I think an FMIC is next mod, obviously. |

I do believe that the Stage 1 maps are as near perfect as they possibly can be. You do have a few choices of different stage 1 maps to play with and you can choose the one that suites your driving habits best!

its load based so depends a lot on the conditions while driving.

Like others, I'm stuck on the "updating" screen. I tried the Shift+F11 key, but I have a Mac. I tried Command+F11, no dice.
...anyone with a Mac know how to shut this thing off so I can continue? |
