Thanks, I just tried that but it still isn't responding. I'm a little frustrated because when I called tech support, the only answer I got was "you just have to figure a way to activate F11". The next suggestion was that I go find a Windows based computer, download the AP manager to it, and then use Shift+F11. Hmm, excuse me neighbor, mind if I borrow a cup of sugar...oh, and your computer.

It works for me on my Mac just fine, it's not just shift+f11 by the way, you have to do ctrl+shift+f11 and maybe the [b]fn[/] key in there depending on your default keyboard settings..

This is the key combination I hit to do it on min ctrl+shift+fn+f11

When I did that, it turned off my volume. I think something is definitely wrong with my AP.

I have an auto and I also prefer the older maps from last Febuary. 2.03 feels so much more powerful on the unreliable butt Dyno. I never had any problems with 2.03. I hope the stage 2 maps will come with a similar throttle feel because I am getting downpipes this weekend and intercooler next week.

For those that prefer the feel of the v203 maps, are your cars auto or manual?

Sorry. It just worked itself out. Ctrl+shift+F11, it hung but then worked.

The weird thing is that I can't get the beta update to work, only the non-beta version.

That would be cool. I'd also need a custom map for upgraded turbos before spring...

We are currently aware of a problem some users are having when updating their AccessPORT to Beta firmware. We are working hard to find a fix and we will update you with our progress!

At this time, I would recommend not updating your AccessPORT. Currently, there are no new releases that would affect the performance or safety of your vehicle of your vehicle, so beta updates are not needed. As always, if you have any questions, please send us a PM, email (tech@cobbtuning.com), or call (866-922-3059).

535i dyno

I'm a new (CPO'd) e60 535i owner. My question is, based on the dyno graphs shown on the COBB Tuning website, why are hp and tq #s between the 135i, 335i, and 535i all so different in stock form and as well AP tuned. To best of my knowledge, they are all running N54s, is that correct?

I did a pretty through search on this froum and read thru 50+ pages and didnt find an answer. did i miss something?

Different weight and sizes of the car?

Lighter/smaller it is the faster it will be

That had crossed my mind...but i was always under the impression weight and size would have a more direct affect on the ultimate performance of the vehicle (say 0-60 or 1/4mi) and not necesarily direct engine output. Am I wrong?

Don't have time to find it for you, but I had asked them myself, and gotten an answer in this forum, so do an Advanced Search with Cobb as a word for posts made by me.

Short answer is there is very little difference, and the major reason was that car had hardware issues (wastegates IIRC) that caused it to do badly, and they've not had time to do another dyno with another 535.

There are some differences in the car. The engine itself may very well be the same but the 535i has different DP's, different exhaust and a different FMIC then the 1 and 3 series. The first Cobb dyno with a 535 did indeed have an issue but even when it was rectified, it is a slightly lower number (10-15 hp) then the 335's.

There's been nothing publicly stated about that, has there? I spoke to them last week about it, and there wasn't an update as far as that tech knew.

Found my thread also:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=483122

The exhaust isn't an issue at stage 1, at least they didn't indicate it. On the 335, the exhaust isn't a requirement even for stage 2 or 2+, so I can't see the one for the 535 causing issues in stage 1.

From the main coding dude himself:

Having said that, I went to their dyno database out of curiosity, and see there are a few dynos posted from just a couple of weeks ago! There's no stock / baseline pull unfortunately, and the mods for this car aren't listed (I have a feeling he has a FMIC though, as they did a pull labelled "Stage 1 +FMIC" within a few minutes of an earlier pull) but the good news is that on the newest v301 Aggressive maps, they got 308 HP. vs the 273 HP they got last year!

Here's a link to their dyno database: CLICK ME

Here are the two graphs:

I can tell you from dyno'ing my 535 on a dynojet, I am making lower HP #'s then 335's on a similar dynojet. I assume there are some variances between dyno's but, in general, I am running below what a 335i runs (both stock and with similar bolt ons).

The low run is bone stock (cobb completely removed). The high run is stg1 v301 aggressive.

I can confirm (finding parts) that the 335 FMIC, DP's and exhaust systems are all different then the 335's. While I cannot say if it makes a difference, I have heard from a few different sources (manufacturers) that at least the FMIC for the 5 is smaller then the 3.

what u said makes sense. altho no one has confirmed that the 335s have diff exhaust, etc. they just sound different from 535s.

xclone, i see that you have a 535 as well. can i ask your first impression (and 2nd and 3rd) of the AP when your car was stock (assuming it was). i dont plan on doing much else but maybe springs and strut bar, nothing in terms of CAI or exhaust.
