Did you read the tutorial? All the information you need is listed on there and in the INPA FAQ. Are you using the USB cable?

Yes, select E90. With regard to the ignition, if you have Comfort Access you need to push the Start button TWICE with no pedals pressed to be at full ignition, equivalent to turning a key to Position 2 in older cars. Pushing once is radio readiness, the equivalent of putting the fob into the slot or turning a key to Position 1 in older cars.

That said, I've had a few occasions where INPA didn't register but I was able to code just fine.

I read it up until the point where I had problems. Page 8 I think it was. And yes, it is the usb cable.

I do have Comfort Access. I pressed the ignition until the head lights came on, but did not start the car. When I tried the read information from the airbag module, I got some kind of error.

You have an 09 car. If your car was produced March 09 or later and your cable has Pin 8 active, that's your problem. You'd need to remove or desolder Pin 8 to code your car. Read Post 2294 if you need more info.

Then you probably need the updated drivers for your cable (posted in the FAQ) and/or you need to set your COM port settings properly, specifically setting the Latency to 1 rather than the default 16.

Okay thank you, I will try that tonight. My cable came with the pin 8 adapter, I will give it a shot also.

No, if you have the adapter then Pin 8 is probably inactive on your cable. The adapter restores it so you can code Double K-Line cars, like the E60s I believe. In that case you probably just need the driver and Latency settings changed.

Changing VO

Problem continuing with changing the VO for the sirius radio. I was able to program it into CAS with no problems but at the last step in the pdf it says " the 2nd control unit which stores the vehicle order must now be coded with the new vehicle order, select F1"Change ECU" and repeat process" but my F1 has no "change ECU" F1 at the end, any ideas or do I just add it to eack module, CAS,NFRM and KOMBI

The version of NCS expert that we are using is mostly in English some in German. The version used in that PDF tutorial is all in English.

So the button "change ECU" is still there is just says something different.

You can also just restart NCS EXPERT and select NFRM at the first prompt and code the same way you coded CAS.

Hope that helps

Great, but are they the only two modules that are coded? Also what is the latest version?

Yes, only two. Not sure about the latest version of NCS EXPERT. I've been using the same one I posted in the tutorial / .RAR file and just apply the ISTA updates. latest version for ISTA is V41

So changing the latency made both circles turn black. Now I'm having the following problem after selecting CAS.

FA-Fehler
COAPI-2062: error during reading coding data
CAS, FA_LESEN: ERROR_ECU_INCORRECT_RESPONSE_ID

any thoughts?

Clear the TRC and MAN files. Also pretty sure it means you need to take off the black adapter.

Where do I find the TRC and MAN files and how do I clear them?

Also, I am not using the black adapter.

---I searched for TRC in this tread but it returned too many results for me to sort through.

Please read the DIY as these are the primary and most fundamental aspects of coding.

I've read it, carefully. I'm stuck at step 40. The DIY doesn't mention anything about MAN or TRC files until further along in the guide.

They are in the work folder. open the FSW TRC file, clear it then save. Then Save as MAN.

After reading your issue it sounds more like a Pin 8 issue. You need an adapter i think.
