i hit a deer a couple of nights ago, and i got a bunch of different opinions as to how to report it. i figured you've seen the lot, so you know the best way.

anyways, i reported it as exactly what happened.

Yeah just report it to your insurance company as is. My only tip would be to make sure you tell them the deer was moving, if it was. If you hit a stationary object it's your fault, if you hit a moving object, it is not. So if it was moving and you reported it as such, you're in the clear.

yeah, i told them it jumped in front of me and jumped away afterwards which should be pretty clear
