I have not, but to be honest, I really would rather find a job as a round tool area sales rep. Higher pay, better benefits, more free time, see multiple processes.

If I went through a recruiter do I follow up with him instead of direct to the company?

Oh, skate days. Hookups mounted to Independents and DC's all day son.

I'd definitely check in with the recruiter and get feedback. It helps with the next opportunity as well.

Damn! How many ex-skaters here?

Thanks for the info, I'll give him a shout when I get out of here today.

Tonka was a BMX'er if I'm not mistaken.

I skated for a few years. I then discovered I was a much better BMXer and ditched the board.

I broke me left femur trying to do a combo endo, frame spin (?). Had a rotor on my bike beck so you can spin the handlebars 360 degrees. I was so dumb.

Luckily, I never broke anything during my BMX days. I used to ride dirt trails mostly. Was common to fall and end up with a mouth full of dirt.

I did break my left humerus while riding my bike when I was in the first grade. And in 2011, I fractured my left radius head while snowboarding.

How did you find the bolded portion above worked for you? Those are some pretty cool combinations, I'm sure they've contributed positively for you. Any adverse affects? Or I guess you're still experimenting so no conclusions to be made, as of yet?

Dude! I am so gonna buy some. I'm gonna look right now. Lol. They make lots of cool colors now, too.
All positive. I do think the macros of those calories makes a big difference. One of the best pre, during ride foods i eat are homemade Lara bars. Pineapple coconut flavor to be specific. When i eat these i just feel fueled with loads of energy, as you can probably tell from the ingredients. These are awesome because they keep so long too. You can make double triple batches and eat on them for weeks.

Quote:
Ingredients

1½ cups raw cashews
1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
½ cup dried pineapple
8 medjool dates
2 T coconut oil
Juice of 1 lime

Instructions

1. In a food processor, grind up the cashews for a minute. Then add in the remaining ingredients and mix until a dough forms.

2. Line an 8x8 glass baking dish with parchment paper. Press dough into the baking dish. The dough is thick and sticky and sometimes wetting a spatula helps. If you prefer, you can roll these into bite sized balls and place on a lined baking sheet.

3. Once the dough is in the baking dish, transfer it to the fridge to set. It should not take long at all.

4. Once the bars are firm, use a pizza cutter to cut into bars. Keep these bars stored in the fridge. They should last several weeks that way. You can also freeze them for much longer. Enjoy!

Lemme play the name game.

my favorite deck was a Lance Mountain but also had Lester. I started with a cheapo Variflex.

Vision Street Wear tees.

Vans on my feet.

What's up?
Yes, was local level sponsored up until i got a car. Then i quit. I wore chucks until Vision Street Wear started giving me shoes. Lol I used to hang out at the local state shop and remember when the Vision Street Wear rep came into the shop to introduce their first skate shoes. The owner of the shop told the guy i was the best street skater in town and the guy turned around asked my size and went to his car to get me a pair of shoes. Gave me his business card and said to call me if i wear them out cause he'd send me a new pair. This got both the shop owner and myself thinking and we/he made some calls. Next thing you know, i don't have to pay for skate gear anymore!

Santa cruz speed wheels, Lake skate boards, Independent trucks, Vision and a few other small shops/manufacturers gave me their stuff so i could pimp it out for them. At local contests they'd show up and it was like Christmas morning. I had enough gear to last me all year and still set up some friends with their stuff. Good times!

My parents had a huge driveway and lots of land. So i had a 4' mini half, 6' 1/4 pipe, several launch ramps, fun box, rails, and a host of other ramps. The most at one time was somewhere around 12. I came home from school one day and someone had spray painted "Joe's Skate Park Inc" on the side of the largest ramp that faced the street. lol I still run into people who after we get to talking tell me about how they used to skate at this guys house who had a ton of ramps. Then they flip out when i tell them that was my house.

You were like semi-pro, real deal. I was lucky that a couple buddies made ramps and there was one 1/4 pipe in the neighborhood. After a bit I got waterlogged. Splinter central.

Your setup sounds like a skate park! Skaters dream...

I was more of a 3 trick pony. Ollie, invert, and rail slide. That was the extent of it.

Yep, you have to keep them painted or they go to shit quick. We used to collect "abandoned" plywood and lumber whenever we found it. There's a funny story about that, but i think i've already shared it somewhere on BP within the last 12 months, so i'll refrain.

There were like shifts of people who would show up depending on how far away they lived and if they had a car or not. The local guys would show up early, then the guys who had cars, then the guys who had to take 3 busses to get there. lol

Meh.... Tampa was a small town back then and skating was in it's toddler phase. Plus i had ample opportunity to practice with that set up.

The guys i used to skate with back in the day didn't quit when they got cars (few of them went pro for a few years) and went on to open an actual skate park called SPOT. Skate Park Of Tampa. It's still in operation and is pretty badass. Their claim to fame (other than being a successful business for almost 20 years) is that Tony Hawk made a few stops there on his Huckjam Tours.

I gotta say, Mr Tonka 's picture is pretty close to bimmette 's, but not quite. The sparkles almost won me over, but in the end, the banana wins. Related: restocked the laminator!
