Hi dumitru.o, can you please email me on @gmail.com. Looks like I don't have enough privileges to PM you. I just emailed you on ebay as well.

Oh. That's mine I did this CA retrofit to my E60 with dumitru.o's help. Thanks dumitru.o! It works, but not 100% success. I should try many times to lock/unlock the door or turn on ignition. The CCC shows "missing master key or error occurred" messages almost all the time when turning off the engine. The remote key button works very well, Working distance is similar to my older keys(non CA). Just CA function fails. Anybody experienced same problem? |

How are you guys able to add the CA option to the VO in BMW's system in order to be able to order CA keys? I know there are some people that can do this, but I'm just trying to figure out how exactly they can make that changes (BMW employee/dealer access?)

Hi,
Since i am getting so many times the same questions, even though this information is already on the first page, i will try to sum it up once again here: Question: What parts do i need for retrofitting $322 Comfort Access option to my car? Answer : For any E Series BMW (e90, e91, e92 ,e93 , e60, e61 , e70, e71, e63, e64, x84, e89) you need the following parts: 1. main wiring harness which i can manufacture myself and the price depends on the car's chassis (takes me 2 weeks to get it done) 2. door wiring which can be bought as new from BMW or taken from scrapyard. 3. CA module (known as PGS in NCSExpert coding program) which is a different one depending on the car's series: 3 Series, X1 and Z4 share the same module, 5 Series has it s own module and X5/X6 Series a totally different one. 4. CA Key for your car's VIN. This you can order from me and includes the database update for your VIN with BMW to contain $322 Comfort Access option. Here there are 2 options you can chose: a. Order the CA Key from me - need VIN to quote a price -> need copy of car's registration and owner's ID to order the key from BMW. or b. Order the BMW VIN database update (which is cheaper) from me then once your VIN shows at BMW database as having $322 Comfort Access option, you can go to your local BMW dealer and order the CA Key yourself at your local price -> for this i need just a copy of the car's registration. 5. Door handles which you can buy used from scrapyard (would be perfect to get one with the same color as your car so you won't have to re-paint it). 6. Antennas: 1 bumper antenna and 3 interior antennas for 3 Series/X1/Z4 (4 interior antennas for 5 series/X5/X6) Once you have everything installed: main wiring harness, module, antennas, door handles, door wiring; all you need to do is to code CAS and PGS modules (with $322 added into your VO) using NCSExpert (expert mode profile). The CA Key you get from BMW needs no programming, all you have to do is to insert it in the key slot and start the car. Once you do that, the key automatically syncs with the car and from that point on you can use it as both normal key and CA Key (assuming you have all the CA retrofit done) WARNING ! If your CAS module was altered in any way (cloned keys added to the car, original keys removed from the CAS/disabled) i suggest you replace also the CAS module because you might order the original CA Key from BMW and find it useless because CAS was tampered and doesn't recognize the key. I actually had one case here on the forum and he had to replace the CAS + 2 New CA Keys (so pretty expensive stuff), so please pay attention because i will not be responsible whatsoever if your car was tampered and the new Key from BMW doesn't work ! Any CAS it s paired with it s own set of 8 keys (2 CA and 6 normal). When ordering a new CAS it will arrive automatically with the 2 CA keys from own it's set (first 2 keys from the set). Old keys will not work anymore with the new CAS. When ordering your first CA key (assuming you have your old CAS) this key will be the next in the row of your set of keys. Example: you already have 3 original keys from BMW, first 3 keys of your set. The new CA key will arrive as key no 4 and will occupy the #4 position in your CAS. If you look on the picture you will notice that each new CA key has a sticker with a number on it, usually that is 3 but sometimes can be 4 or 5 or whatever but no more than 8. Usually here comes the problem with a tampered CAS. If someone created a clone key and put it in the CAS on position 3 or 4, when the new original CA key will arrive from BMW, it s own position in CAS, 3 or 4 or whatever will be already occupied by the clone key and therefore the original key won t work! You don t have to panic now, but if you have suspicions that the CAS might have been tampered by a previous owner, then you need to check it and make sure it s OK and no one has altered the keys!
