Hi guys, does anyone know if the E90 (2006) 320D has the same legs/springs as a 2009 (facelift) E90 320D?

NEED ADVICE

I'm looking to buy a 2007 328i which has been lowered on blisten sport struts and H&R Race Springs

1. Before buying I would like to know if anyone else in canada is running a similar setup and how is the winter driving? I'm from montreal so our winters are pretty bad and I'm worried of getting stuck way too often.

2. Also would H&R Sport springs be a better option for daily driving including winter?

(I will always be running winter tires in winter so that's not a factor)

3. Finally, I would like to know how bad is the camber with the race springs and what camber kit would you recommend to fix it?

what about rear shock mounts? how much difference does it make? I saw someonline that say they never wear out and are high performance. I don't take my car on the track and it's a stock model 328xi but I want to start doing th ebest I can with what I have. thanks!

Stock rear upper suspension mounts are extremely soft - a little firmer that those pink pencil erasers. With coilovers, they act like another source of dampening and don't let the coilover work. When you press down on the car in the rear, you can see just the mount flexing up and down, coilovers aren't even engaged. I would replace them. AKG Motorsports makes two hardness options - I have these.

No increase in NVH.

I want to try the rear suspension mounts next

I'd go full poly for those, the stock ones are like a sponge. Negligible difference in NVH.

Can't comment on the H&R stuff, but the camber will not be "bad". You just need an alignment as lowering the car will make the angles change

Yes, that's it.
What springs on the Koni Yellows are you running? Are you using the non adjustable rear shock or the custom rear shock from Dinan?

Hows the ride been, since you've put some more time on the setup since you last posted, maybe even better now after breaking the setup in..?

How are the roads in your area? Is that a concern for you personally

Hi there! New here

Thinking about buying these KW Coilover Variant 1 inox. The v2 might be nice to, might be a bit expensive.

What kind of difference is there in mounting for all e9x chassi? Some manufactures have e90 suspension but don't fit all chassi and engine types. Is there just springs? Since i might switch to another e91 in the future. If i could use them on the next car i might go with the v3 even. (Looking for e91 manual 335i LCI but 2009 model)

Not trying to be a dick, but instead of spending time on typing up a question, use Google or the search feature on this site.

E9X RWD and E9X XI have near similar rear suspension so you can probably mix and match components

E9X RWD and E9X XI have very different front suspension and you cannot mix and match

I can't comment on E9X ( non M ) and E9X M3 suspension but there is a thread that talks about compatibility of parts

ISC N1 Coilovers

Is anybody here running these coil overs? What is the lowest you can actually get in the front? Pics of possibly with wheels set up. I can’t seem to get my front end to go lower than stock

I'm looking to change my Shocks, Struts & Springs, Strut Mounts, etc.... I'm not into racing just a daily / Weekend driver... plus I'm in E93 335i Convertible ... I wouldn't gear it up to race but to go fast and handle well if that make sense.

What is the best bang for Buck in regards to improving Ride.... 2008 335i Approximately 50K miles and OEM Shock Struts springs etc...

I'm looking to stay under $1000.00

Thanks in advance

Bilstein B6s if you want comfort > handling

Bilstein B8s if you want handling < comfort

Koni FSDs are also a great choice

Struts Shocks vs More Tire for Bette Ride

Did You Mean Bilstein Bs if you want Handing > comfort ? If so I see and Thank You

Also Is there a Good Test to know if I need to replace the Springs along with front struts and also what other hardware should I replace like Strut Mounts etc...

I'm just getting a really rough ride... some from the Struts and Shocks but also from the Low Profile Tires what is the Max Ride Height Ratio You Can go as far as getting more tire without scraping wheel wells ... Hope that make sense .. btw way I have 18" stock wheels

Thanks Again Sir

I'm no expert by any means but if you want a comfortable ride I wouldn't do B8s lol. I'm running B8s with Eibach Pros on a 225/45R18 square setup (Toyo Extensa HP2). It's a lot firmer of a ride than I would like for a DD but the handling is great.

When I was riding on my original struts/shocks that were blown I often hit the bump stops on good sized potholes, had horrible body roll, and each time I hit a bump (tar filling, pothole, etc) theyd make a hydraulic hissing sound. When I finally replaced them, much like Justin Buice's video, the originals did not come back up when compressed where as the new shocks came back up almost instantly.

Your current springs should be fine unless you want to go lower, I don't believe they wear out like the shocks or struts do. I would replace all shock mounts, front and rear (bottom) with OE and upgrade the rear (top) mounts with Dinan or Monroe. The upgrade helps it be less bouncy or floaty from what I've noticed. Spring pads, and top hats were fine on my car so I returned the new ones I ordered, though Id reccommend you get them just in case. You can always return anything you dont need if they look good already

There's plenty of threads on different tire/wheel setups you can run on the wheels subforum, I'd search there first. Good luck!

Struts Shocks vs More Tire for Bette Ride

colorado.e9x

Great Great Info....I will replace the Shocks and Struts as far as the Mounts, etc.. you suggested ;

Can I get everything from one place (Best Price of Course) ?
Thanks for the list of additional parts too

Because If Your going to do all that work might as well replace all the parts you can within reasonable price.

Thanks Again

You can get most of the parts from FCPEuro or ECSTuning, I got all OE parts from FCPEuro, my shocks/struts/springs were bought off a forum member, and monroe top mounts were off amazon

If you value comfort vs handling buy a Buick or Cadillac LOL 😂

In all seriousness, I think stock shocks & struts & or Koni FSD's

Bilstein B12 Pro Kit

Does anyone have experience with this Bilstein/Eibach kit? Just picked up a 2011 335i coupe, RWD, 19" wheels. I've got a track car so while handling is important, I want some comfort as well. Any help on preloading suspension during installation? Thanks.

Hello, i'm posting this for some help.

I hit a pothole on both of my passenger tires and front tire is bent but the passenger side is lower than the drivers side. Not sure if it's a suspension issue or something but if anybody can help me out on this i would appreciate it thanks so much.
