Just in case. You need to have your car being able to run in order to change the tranny fluid. I'm sure you know the process.

I decided to go with the AEM V2 HD system. Going to run with the external 5 bar map sensor for the higher boost now that I have the stage 2 tune from Bob.
And to the others I know I want to do both while I have the car up in the air. First is finishing up my walnut cleaning, then the trans. |

Any X5-specific advice on how to remove the DPF? There's another egr that's in the way. I have 3 of the motor mount bracket bolts out and can't find the fourth...kinda at my wit's end here, as nothing's going smoothly

I've been searching and searching and can't find out if it's okay to remove all the scr components in the drivers rear quarter panel including the tanks if getting a tune to disable scr. I'm in the middle of the deletes and waiting on my stage 2.8 to come back.
Just remove it all and disconnect all wiring. Can anyone confirm? thanks |

New 335d and new to the forum
Hey guys just joining e90post and can't wait to get started on my deletes. Bought my car last week! I've been reading up on the forums and a ton of good information here. Glad to have a place to share and gain knowledge. After lots of searching found this 2011 with m sport package. Dealership just spent around $4k on new SCR, glow plugs, glow plug control unit, new battery and a few others. Has 88,000 miles and really clean, minor curb rash. Just talked to BPC yesterday and sounds like I'll just mail in my DME opposed to putting it on a dyno. From reading up things had wanted to go with Iaknowns exhaust but may just gut the SCR even tho its new?? Not sure. Glad to be here either way. You guys rock for starting this forum. If anyone has info on a west coast shop to help with abc delete would be awesome as i don't have a lift or place to work on it...

I just pulled the trigger on a BPC stage II and Iaknown's downpipe and exhaust. Was originally planning on Stage I this summer, but a bunch of SCR codes and 3k+ estimate from the dealer is making it all happen now.
Thanks to everyone for the wealth of info on here. I'll be getting my ECU back monday, and taking it to a local shop for the exhaust install. |

So for a newbie in this field, how long do y'all think this will take? I've replaced a thermostat, vacuum lines, routine maintenance(oil, filters). I should have all of the necessary tools there with me, and a bottle jack to support the engine, and will be doing it on jack stands. Looks like I'll have about 4 or 5 afternoons(6pm to midnight or whatever) to work on it.

Here is a trick. For removal of EGTs from DPF, use the American standard size of line wrench instead of metric size. Its a hair tighter and won't slip and round off the hex. I forget the size. Data somewhere here on M57 as I wrote it. |

To do delete or not to do deletes??
2011 335D is in the shop having SCR pump replaced to the tune of $1100 P&L. The shop says he can do all the deletes and ECU upgrade for about $3K. Cost me an additional $2K if I go that route. Thoughts? Last edited by Ardy111; 05-11-2017 at 05:17 PM.. |

In other thoughts, I'm wondering why more guys aren't swapping over to steel/aluminum tranny pans in order to make future fluid changes that much easier and cheaper?

With a steel pan you loose a liter of fluid. I considered it but did not want to compromise on less capacity.

You guys need to go find a 2006 B7 Alpina being parted out. this might score you the aluminum finned transmission pan. Be advised, it will require the fins to be shortened. They are about 3-1/2" tall. I pulled pics back out. This is Mik's thread. I'm wanting to keep direction true to his Dealing with alphabet soup.
