has anyone had luck with this harness? It has the emulator already wired in.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/271677886583 After looking at it, it almost seems the CANBUS wires arent twisted tight enough... Last edited by vastano; 04-23-2015 at 09:01 AM.. |

There was debate about this in the beginning, but it's been proven that you DON'T need PDC.

I tried to code the car without the activating PDC portions but it did not work, After I activated them the Rear view camera worked appropriately. I did run into a big problem. I can't seem to fit the extra wiring harness behind the CIC head unit. Any tips or tricks?

It's a not easy, but it will fit. If you loosen up a few screws, you'll be able to tuck it off to the passenger side of the radio.

Please do not be a huge doofus like me and not move the most bus from the factory harness into the new harness. Your blue tooth, usb and aux can't work if they are not plugged in.

Another Fail
Has anyone gotten this to work on a non-PDC, MANUAL transmission vehicle?
I've followed the write-up as closely as possible and coded as indicated but there is no change in the display whatsoever when I put the car in reverse gear. I wonder if the CAN signals for reverse are different for manual trans? |

Wildcat:
This issue is not getting power to the camera. I have it connected directly to the battery for testing. I have also verified power to the emulation module. I added $507 and $3AG to the VO and Expertmode coded CIC, CAS, NFRM, KOMBI, IHK and 2JBBF, just to make sure whatever module might be involved got PDC and camera codes. I verified that the changes listed in the thread for CIC were in fact made. However, there is no change whatsoever to the iDrive screen when the car is put into reverse. It's not that I'm getting a blank screen. The car simply acts as if the emulator is not there. Also, can you answer this question: have you gotten this to work on a NON-PDC, MANUAL transmission vehicle? |
