I'd be very curious to see how much the DME update changed performance. The dp will really shine with a tune, so I won't expect a huge gain with just that. Do you have tuning plans?

My JB stage 2 shipped yesterday. So first I need to get my DME update then DP installed then tune!

It's looks to me that the difference between the two graphs could almost be the difference of two simultaneous runs with no changes to the car. Meaning that if a guy does one pull on the dyno, changes nothing, then does another pull then the graph could look very similar. It's appears as if the drag put on the system by the AWD doesn't affect the numbers regardless of if the AWD system is "deactivated". Despite the dyno numbers not being spectacular, shouldn't we see an increase in WHP if the AWD system was truly disengaged? I see that the front are not turning so does that mean that there is some slipping of a clutch or whatever is going on in the tranfser case?

Wonder what passer-bys thought of a BMW going sideways on a holiday with wipers moving like crazy on a sunny day

Something weird happened, I was trying to pull the fuse out with my fingers the other day, and couldn't grip it enough to pull it out. The fuse did wiggle in the slot though. Anyway, the traction light (triangle with circular arrow) came up on the dash and stayed, as well as this: 4x4! Everything worked, I thought I cracked the secret, but I tried a burnout and turns out the awd was still working. I pushed/tightened the fuse in the slot and that took care of the problem. |

Getting rid of my run-flats in the morning, so I'm going out later tonight and will pull the fuse and shut the car off to get rid of the wipers, then I'm going to shred the rear tires and hopefully not get the cops called on me!
Last time I did maybe 3-4 donuts, and the smoke cloud was like 25-35 ft in the air it was crazy. |

That is awesome! Take some video for us to enjoy! BTW my wipers would not go off after re-start?
It is a lot of fun though. I need to re-dyno now that I got my JB4, Vishnu catless DP, mid cat delete, ER chargepipe and meth installed. Would be interesting! Has anyone driven with the fuse pulled for an extended period? On the highway? Quote:

I roasted my run flats pretty good, wish I had LSD to make the donuts better but going straight I had two nice black stripes for about as long as I wanted to roast them.
The only way I got the wipers to go off was pulling the wiper fuse block, it's a big one and a bit of a pain but still only took a few seconds to take out. The car without the fuse does drive a bit odd, I wouldn't feel comfortable taking it above highway speed or driving it for any long distance. In an empty parking lot next to a lake with no houses around though, it's great fun! |

On many of these clutch-coupled 4wd systems the parking brake signal will de-energize the transfer clutch.
Has anyone verified this as not being the case for the xdrive? |
