Sorry, but IMO that is a bad mistake. If these were OEM parts, this problem would be totally unacceptable and BMW would reject them out of hand.

Reading this makes me feel like we were guinea pigs. What we're talking about here is 30 pairs of splitters, which are basically two bits of painted plastic. Forgetting to paint some of the edges is odd, to put it mildly.

I took the stock bolt screw to Sears hardware and matched it with a phillips head screw slightly longer that the stock bolt(stainless steel only).I then fitted four of them to stainless steel washers. Worked perfectly and only cost about 3 bucks. Simple. Also the passenger side splitter does not sit flush near the center of the bumper. I used a dab of betalink on that edge and used "THE CLUB" to hold it in place against the ground. Kind of ghetto, but the only way to reduce that gap. Good luck guys.
Thanks for the tips, very useful

I did not get any hardware with my order. WHEN i do get my car back, are the screws needed to keep them from flying off?

Put mine on, and i must say I'm pretty satisfied, i think it looks great and tho fitment might not be 100% i say it still is pretty damn good. Just like anything aftermarket you have to tweak it a little to make it perfect, i will add some betalink to conceal the lines a bit but other then that even now id say looks pretty good. Paint quality is great, i love opening a box and the smell of freshly painted parts fills the room, all and all i say BavDom did an excellent job with these

You need to hit that gap on the passenger side splitter with some betalink...Looks good though.

Thanks, I will add betalink sometime in the next few days to try and cover up all lines, and post pics. But either way i still think it looks ok and pretty happy with them.

1. I am not familiar with Beta link - where do you get it?

2. Upon receiving the parts, they look pretty professional (inside edge will be getting some touch-up.... no biggie). The only worry I have is the tape - is anyone adding additional 3M double sided tape?

3. I noticed that the double-sided tape is only along the bottom.... it is not along the top edge. Is this right?

I will be gettting a layer of Armorcoat or Ventureshield on these before installation, so no pics yet.

I'm not familiar with Beta link as well and would like to know
but as for question #3.....no 3m tape on the top side is because if you do take these off in the future, it will not effect your paint

and for the comments, you guys really need to hold off on your comments until you receive your item....or PM BavDom and try to work things out directly with him....he'll do what he can to make things right

Thanks, the 3M combined with the bolts should be enough. We test these on high speeds in highways to make sure. Yes 3M only comes in the bottom.

for everyone not familiar with betalink, you can check out:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1914

it has more info on how to use it, with pics and even BMW product number. Tho its for a rear spoiler DIY, it can be used also for the spilters.

My comments were based on what I have read in respect of other members' splitters. I am a GB virgin and maybe these problems are normal, but TBH I was not expecting to have to buy longer bolts, source additional double-sided tape, or repaint edges. My splitters may well be perfect when they arrive, but this does not alter the fact that some of those who have already received and installed their splitters have expressed disappointment.

Is anyone thinking about putting 3M tapes on top? Or has anyone already done it? I am thinking about doing it.

Do they have it at the local autoshop, or do I need to order it from BMW (or some other online site)?

I usually go to Home Depot, since many of them have a decent supply. Just make sure you get the same type of threads.
