Sounds about right...ITT i have shared a few stories...

But...if the woman is on medicaid and NOT MARRIED....welfare requires paternity testing UNLESS HE SIGNS THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE

so single gentlemen....NEVER SIGN THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE...it is easy to get your name added...it is hard to get it off

How come you don't like female OB/GYNs? I'd figure women would be more comfortable with someone who was similarly equipped and who you can "girl talk" with.

I use a foley balloon in the cervix for ripening when necessary along with pitocin...when the cervix is favorable for induction...I just use pitocin and try to rupture membranes as soon as she is having a regular contraction pattern...baby usually comes in 4 to 6 hours after rupture of membrances

No...when the placenta is out, the baby is nice and pink and the mom and dad are happy...i only think of a job well done...I give the parents my best wishes...I thank the RN's for their help and go do the paperwork

because most female OB's are pretty hard core bitches...there are exceptions...and usually there is no "girl talk"...my office staff is pretty good at it though...and so am I...

When a women comes in complaining about a bad period, I am empathic and try to help...a few of my competitors tell them to suck it up and say something like " I have bad periods too and you don't hear me complaining"

Most people want a caring, competent, compassionate physician....if someone wants to pre-judge me based on my gender...then they are more trouble than it is worth and I am glad they never come in my door

would have assumed female doctors have better bedside manner since women are generally more empathetic. kind of counter-intuitive to hear otherwise.

those become nurses...the ones that get through med school...are generally classic type a neurotic messes...I suffered under through 3 years of such women as my chief residents...NIGHTMARE....

I do have 2 close friends that are OB's that are very kind sweet people....one doesn't practice..she married a neurosurgeon
