Eonon, Just 'installed' my unit. Please answer following problems:

-Steer wheel control is not working. How is this possible?
-FM radio doesn't work. It does not properly play channels, only with very disorting sound. I reconnected stock unit to check and quality is excellent there. I need the radio so it has to be fixed?
-How does it fit? No installation notes at all... Does it 'click' in position or how do I have to add it?

Hi nightwarrior, don't worry I'll try my best to help you. About your issues, please firstly check as follows:

- For the steering wheel control issue, pls make sure if the unit's can bus is connected very well with your car.

- For the radio issue:
A. Make sure the radio antenna is well connected, unplug it several times to have a try.
B. Choose the right radio region.
C. Turn off the LOC function.
D. Change to another FM antenna to have a try.

- The unit is easy to install, just plug and play, you can check the user manual with basic wiring instruction. If you're still not quite sure, please tell us which part you're not clear. And you can also go to the professional installation shop to ask. Thanks!

If your issues still remains, we will help you further, thanks!

-I disconnected the the Canbus several times and reconnected them as properly as I could, no steering control.
-FM quality is GREAT with STOCK radio, VERY BAD with AFTERMARKET radio. Unplugged several times, same problem... Can receive some channels, but with a lot interuption.
-Plug & play? You have to trim the climate control in orde to fit properly, which means I cannot go back stock when I want.
-Settings do not remember. After 15 minutes, all settings are lost.
-Audio quality is very poor. I have the basic stereo system, which is already very bad, but this is just ...

I reverted to stock because of malfunction of this unit... Only positive I can say is the design. Looks very OEM and neat. Should have chosen the Zenec unit...

Can you comment on the bottom part of the unit sticking out? I can't tell from the pictures but it looks like the bottom simply runs in a straight line rather than curve back in for a flush look like the stock unit.

The bottom part is sticking out, it protrudes a little bit. But not in a way that I'd suspect it being aftermarket if I didn't know BMW.

Hi nightwarrior, don’t worry no matter what happens, I’ll try our best to help you, since Eonon always provide our customers steady and reliable customer service.
I’ve asked our tech about your case:
- About the steering wheel control, please try to enter SYSTEM SETTING to reset the SWC buttons again to see if it works. You can refer to the follow picture:

- About the radio issue, it may because the FM antenna is not with power supply, please connect it to the blue Auto Antenna to have a try. Thanks!

- To make the settings remember, it's necessary for the the BATT wire to be supplied with power, so connect the BATT wire to the battery is the right way. And a tip is, you'd better add a fuse between the BATT and battery to avoid the short circuit.
And you can also refer to HuyT’s instruction here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=213 He has sorted out successfully! Hope it helps!

Thanks for explaining this nightwarrior, yes as I've known from our tech, the after market unit in the market now is nearly all designed in this way.

We have sold thousands of D5114 out, but there're only several customers bought from us has reflected this issue, most of them can accept the way it is. Still looks good.

So gopatgeaux, you don't have to worry about this, thanks!

Tell your product designers to go back to the drawing board and manufacture a system that will sit flush with the centre console. Its not difficult

So does the D5114C apart of this group buy pricing? whats the difference between the two units? Has D5114C corrected all the problems i've read about on the D5114?

Hi Aaron, things are easier said than done. Actually to modify the common used module is not an easy job. And most importantly is, the majority of customers can accept that. Hope you can understand, thanks!

Hi dark, now it’s the group buy for D5114, not D5114C. Since D5114 is with more reliable quality actually, we make the D5114 back. Thanks!

So please rest assured, would you like to join the D5114 group buy?

Hi TD71, the short answer is the D5114 can't work with the Logic 7 system. Since the Logic 7 uses the fiber cable, and our unit uses the analog one. Hope you can understand. But you can use our built-in amp in the D5114, also quite convenient to use. Thanks!

Logic 7 incompatibility

Do you have any solution that could make your system work with the fiber optic connector other than change the OEM sound system?

Hi Dragon, thanks for your advice, but right now there's no solution for the logic 7 yet, you can change to another amplifier with analog signal without problem, or just use our built-in amplifier, thanks!

Hi eonon,

I got an auto electrician to fit mine as I had a bury hands free kit already installed he removed all of the bury kit and whilst the eonon unit plugged in and powered up when we tried to slot it into the dash void it proved to be completely impossible! The plastic trim on the side of the unit is knocking against the plastic trim in the dash void before it gets two thirds of the way in. Unless I'm supposed to have removed more trim or modified the plastic on the stereo it just will not fit, as I said its a reputable auto spark that's stumped so there has to be something wrong here.

Hi bullyspecial, don't worry I'll try my best to help you. So you have a Eonon D5114 BMW E90 Car GPS? And what the specific year and model of your car?
I think it's better for you to send us some pictures of your installation issue so that we can check it more carefully and provide you further advice, thanks!

You can send the pics to eonon.com@sbo2.net, and mention you're bullyspecial in e90post forum, then I'll follow your case, thanks a lot!
