Hey guys, I posted a while ago when I was thinking about coilovers. I've thought it all over, and I was wondering what everyone's opinion on Air Lift performance bags is. The $400 off coupon from bag riders is incredibly tempting. I never track my car, and honestly never get to hit any corners with it due to where I live. The instant heigh adjustability of the bags is what really draws me to them. I'd hate to make my not make coilovers very low in fear of scraping on stuff. I just would like the car to handle well for when I travel up to the tail of the dragon and other mountains. I have a lift at my house, so I'd be able to do the install here. Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you!

Sorry Russco but you are no where near aggressive....

Guzubulu, I personally know many people that drift on Airlift performance bags and love them. 2 E36's and a Z. Anyway, regardless of the price you get on the bags i'm sure you will be happy with them. Contact Rali @ bag riders. He will hook you up with everything you could ever want and need. Great guys over there. As far as what it seems like you want to do with the car, if you aren't scraping you ain't doin' it right . Just my .02

EDIT: Plus static pulls mad pussy and scene points.

Hahahaha. The ending part gave me a chuckle. Thank you so much for the advice. It seems like the whole "bags ruin handling" thing is a big lie. It seems like the technology has come so far that bags will handle as good, if not better than coilovers (judging by a video I watched). with that said, in my eyes, they are the ultimate suspension. From what I hear, bags also have a nice ride? This is important to me for when my dad rides with me. thanks again for your advice, I will surely get in touch with the people over at bagriders. their install guides are the best!

Could you please suggest some? How do these compare to the air lift performance setup? I searched around a bit and couldn't find very much info on them. Thank you!

You can get them here
http://www.flushstance.com

I was going to get aircups but I was talked out of them. I don't have any clearance issues so I guess it worked out. They only have them for the front, and from what I was told 1/2" lift is the most you can do.

You'll get about 1/2 inch to 1 full inch depending on what air cups you go with. As far as the handling debate. There is no doubt in my mind that you can run bags in a performance setting (as noted before I have many, many friends that run them drifting.) However, in my experience Bags =/= Coils. Coils are way more adjustable as far as dampening, spring rates and over all rigidity. Again, I understand what you are going for as far as being happy that you can (easily) adjust your car for a daily drive. I will say that i've owned static, slammed cars for the past 8 years and I get around just fine on the daily. Just be careful how you drive

EDIT : Just for clarification as well, you can run air cups on the front & rear of your suspension. Hope that helps man!

Air cups are meant for quick short movement. You can't do a trip of length with them fully up. More so for clearing speed bumps or entering and exiting lots or lifts etc.

Thank you all so much for your responses and knowledge. It helped a lot! I'm still not positive what I will go with, but I think the air lift performance setup from bagriders appeals to me the most. Again, thanks so much. It's great having a thread where you can ask questions and not get flamed for wanting air hahaha

That's what forums are all about. Don't get me wrong there are plenty of sub-forums on e90 post that the majority of us aggressive fitment guys get flamed (I know I have been "attacked" personally more then a few times lol). But here it's all about love. We all started somewhere and if I can share my knowledge with someone else then that's exactly what i'll do. It's all about having fun and expressing yourself through your car

Haven't posted here in a bit, changed things up recently on ModQuench, my wide body e92 335i. Not sure I qualify for stance, but I do appreciate the current setup, it's tasteful and looks somewhat OEM. Just put a megan racing M3 axle back on yesterday that I bought used on e90post, the N54 just came back to life. Sounds great with the AR catless downpipes and Dinan turbos. The stock m3 exhaust just felt asleep, like it was creating too much back pressure and resistance for the N54.

It would be cheating if you had to drive around with the air cups lifted. They are just for extra ground clearance when needed.

I can definitely get behind it Quench. Though I wish you had some more stretch+lows. Looks great though, especially for OEM++

Also, you call it "widebody" but....aren't those just m3 fenders? Not to knock you but, in my opinion, that is not widebody lol.

by far e90post contains the most sensitive owners. i got in trouble cause i typed "lol" to a guy that create a thread stating he added spacers and now his car rubs while theres tons of already well documented info on what works and not

Yeah, that's what really turned me off from every making a new account and posting here. Back in 10' when I first made an account I got flamed on so hard and got into many, many useless arguments. But over the last 5 or so years i've come to realize that everyone has there niche. Ours is just better.

I have 220 style wheels right now with 235/35 and 275/30. With max stock camber, it rubs if I go too low. Wheels are 19x8.5 et29 and 19x9.5 et23 btw. I'm guessing if I put skinnier tires, I should be able to go lower, right? Like 215/35 and 245/30? Is that too much stretch? Do you guys think I can put kw v1s all the way down with those tires?

Also, what if put on 225/40 and 255/35. I probably can't go too low, but will those fit? Cause those sizes are for 18s, I think.

I'm trying to have a flush setup without buying new wheels or buying 3 sets of tires. I have an e90 lci

Mikey, front end is all OEM m3 plastics including fenders, bumper, air ducts, and metal m3 hood.....which adds up to being significantly wider than my stock 335i fenders. Rear quarter panels are custom metal work and line up with the m3 bumper. You can see the build thread on my car if you search ModQuench...that is if you're interested in seeing the work put into the car.
