When dad ordered a new 1969 Dodge Dart, the upgrade from the 273 V8 to the 318 V8 was only $50.00. Seems so cheap today.

I remember that day(10/14/1987) both for the good news about the baby, but also because I received my very last traffic ticket on the way home from Fort Myers in my Buick Grand National. 40 over and deserved every penny. I know that I am old because:
- I don't want to add an amp in the trunk anymore (stock is ok enough)
- I don't want to have a subwoofer in the trunk
- Lowering the car isn't necessary.
- Stance? Are you kidding?
- Stock exhaust is good enough, catted downpipe please.
- You understand the value of time and you find people to help you in your projects
- You have a dedicated track car.

My first car was a 1964 Corvair Monza. I managed to install tubing headers on it. The engine was an air cooled flat-6, so two sets of 3 tubes per side, plus the addition of a second muffler. This made a noticeable improvement in performance.

My second car was a 1971 Mercury Capri with a 1600cc 4-banger, so just one header set with 4 tubes. That made a difference as well.

Fun days.
