Whoa, nice coup. That must have been a pricey buy, though.

Ok, I’ve had time to enjoy a pour and here are my thoughts.

I won’t repeat it’s Tasting Notes, I’ll copy & paste them below.

I’m a huge fan of the Yellow spot 12, one of my all time favorite Irish Single Pot Irish Whiskeys. The Yellow pictured is a bottle that I brought back from Germany, it’s only 700ml.

The Red Spot/15 year is very good. It has a spice flavor including sweet red and black pepper. It does have a rather long finish, which may be due to the “spices.”

If I had to choose between the Yellow and Red, I’d take the Yellow all day long.
The Red is really good, but for the cost, I’d recommend Yellow.

“Red Spot Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey has matured for over 15 years in a combination of American Bourbon casks, Spanish sherry butts and Sicilian Marsala wine casks, all contributing in rich and complex flavours, making it the top spot in the range.

Pot Still spices with rich cooked fruit, baked apple, mango and black cherry. Hazelnut and a touch of new leather fuse with toasted American Oak.

Taste
A mix of ripe fruit sweetness from the Marsala seasoned wine casks. While the fruit remains, sweet red pepper and cracked black pepper add some spiciness, finished by notes of American Oak and barley.

Red Breast is a great whiskey, all of them. I can’t wait to pop open my 21 year. If you like the 12, you should love the Cask Strength.

Thumbs up

Absolutely DELISH!!! Another Limited Edition of my favorite whiskey. They would only allow me to buy 2 even though I wanted 6 bottles! My local store says the demand is super high but they were instructed to limit the per purchase number to only 2. After drinking several glasses last night, I can see why.

I can get cases of this if you’re interested. It’s all over the place a little south of you.

Interesting. I'm trying to determine if Crown is treating this like they do: Salted Caramel or even Honey? Where it's only seasonal. But if so, what't the time frame? I'll send you a PM.

All of the above is readily available at a couple local stores. PM me, I’ll be up in DFW area some time in the coming weeks.
