It seems like one could pick up a 325xi, add the 3 stage manifold and xdelete, and end up with a 255hp RWD wagon. This seems like a moderate compromise for the lack of power and the mandatory xdrive (in canada).

I do think understeer would be less given that the front wheels are not pulling the car. I have driven a friend's 330xi compared to my 330i and the handling difference was obvious. I am just curious how much xdelete could close that gap.

RE the m-sport suspension, I believe that both sport and m-sport package cars have the same suspension, and only the RWD cars get the sport suspension. The AWD sport and m-sport packages have the same suspension as non sport AWD cars, which is also not the same as the RWD non-sport suspension. Having owned both a non sport RWD and now msport RWD, the sport suspension is super nice. Car sits much lower, and driving dynamics are very nicely improved. |

Even with its low power, it makes a difference. Steering is smoother, acceleration is better and mpg jumped 3mpg. Unless I need to use the xdrive system, it’s always in rwd mode. |

Shipping from Hawaii isn’t even that much if you’re really in the market! Only issue I can think of is underbody rust? |

I always thought only 2011 had MSports, but I guess 2009-2011?

M-sport was 2009-2012, yes. The 2009's are the only model with LCI and raised roof rails, which are nice because you can mount low-slung whispbars and have a cargo box that looks like a streamlined accessory for the car...rather than the other way around. Soooo many silly cargo box applications running around. |

I've been lurking this part of the forum for the past year or so. I live in Seattle but searched all over the west coast for an MSport E91 but could not find one that was priced respectively. 4 months ago, I settled for a RWD, AT, Montego Blue/Grey leather with the sport package, cold weather package, and comfort access. It also happened to have the MSport suspension from the factory which has been a huge plus to have. I bought it in LA, sight unseen, with 110k miles but the owner had it dealer maintained for the past 50k miles and every single maintenance record came with it. I flew down there, drove it back the same day back to Seattle in 18 hours and it didn't skip a beat. So far, I've been very happy with the car. For the cost that I got it for, it seems to be just as cost effective (if not more) to swap all the MSport parts on a base model. But then again, you won't have the rarity of it having come that way from the factory.

The biggest thing is what people are buying for. Those looking for a collector/rare car will buy (and PAY) for the M Sport... Those that just want a great wagon won't care...

That one in Hawaii is already rwd. Someone looking for a MT could easily swap a MT in there. |

Has anyone done a MT swap on these cars? I assume that a RWD car would need a RWD transmission and so forth with an xDrive. But what about LCI/Pre-LCI? Could you fit a Pre-LCI 325i/330i into a LCI car? It's probably a lot more a hassle then it sounds.
