Bought Cobb and tried to install it.. Turns out I have a DME that Cobb has yet to release a mapping for... The anticipation to tune this N54 is real

Ok. What do you guys think about the etune from jake at PTF I don't really have the option for pro tune. I've been doing a lot of research on the IS but there's not a lot to find. Are gains similar between the tunes?

335is stock tune

This may or not be a dumb question, but is anybody else here satisfied with the stock 335is tune?

I have a 2012, DCT, with 66k miles (lots of freeway) and the car runs very strong, revs quick and smooth. Not a single check engine light since new.

The only glaring weakness is the stock suspension. But other than that the car feels very dialed in.

Very minimal delay with mine after Pro Tune, maybe 1/4 to 1/2 second.

Talk to Jake at PTF, he set up my car very well and knows what he's doing.

Honestly I think the etune is just as good as a pro tune in person. Sending logs back and fourth really helps dial in things.. And it's in a real time environment instead of a fan blowing air into your engine bay. The tune will be good either way

I think the torque is there but I think it's lacking in the hp department. Coming from a 6MT FBO e92 335xi so I'm just power hungry.. Especially because I can't wait to experience the FBO feeling in a DCT

I don't know why everyone is hating on the Jb4 my car runs fine with it, but I have never ran a protune before so I don't know the difference! I heard it's slower than the jb4 though lol

Running JB4 G5 FBO with the E85 backend flash for almost a year now. The car runs amazingly well. No codes, etc. Dyno'ed 435 whp/475 wtq on a Dynojet a couple months ago. I run Map 7 with the ethanol content I run but Map 2 or 5 are good places to start otherwise.

BS. I ran my 335is tune only for a few months after it was broken in. Ran flawlessly and dyno'ed 375 whp. A significant increase over a stock IS. I get it, you and Yoda had bad experiences. It's unfortunate but shit happens.

I chose my 335is over the previous gen M3 because of the torque and turbocharged n54. With a few simple bolt-ons you are faster than a stock e90/92 m3 and with the DCT of the 335is the transmission is also up to par.

The new m3/m4 is a different animal though, now it comes with the torque and turbocharged I6 and will give FBO n54's a tough time. Not to mention 335is' are going for mid 30's and m3/m4 is 30k more.
Was planning to move from my E90 M3 to a 2015 M3/M4, but after driving one then trying out a 2011 335is, I decided that I can spend the extra $700/month in better places!!!
PS: my wife agrees with me … rare when it comes to cars!!!
