You really are searching for a unicorn.
1. low end torque 2. no turbos 3. compact gt 4. torque around 300 ft-lbs at 1500rpm 5. $80k. 6. manual You might have to sacrifice one of the above to meet the criteria. I think the biggest hurdle is #2.

Best Coupe with paddles
So things are developing with the GF and I am afraid my days of 2 seater sports cars are ending, at least in the short term. Happens to the best of them
![]() So I am looking to get opinions on the best coupe with a little more practicality that I can move to. I need a car that is 2014 and up (so I can get a cpo warranty with 2-3 years remaining) I am looking at spending 80k cnd max, but I don't need to spend that much. Here's what I value: low end torque (I like a good push in the back at low rpms) compact size good visibility the responsiveness and sound of non turbo engines closest thing I can get to a manual transmission (so paddles are a must) good ride and handling balance cars that come to mind are Bmw 650i coupe (turbo but v8 at least) lexus rc 350 or F audi rs5 2017 and up c43 amg class coupe or maybe the c63 (non s) (turbos but amazing low end torque figures) thoughts on these puppies or any other suggestions? M2 is my top pick for this. It's four seats, DCT must be good (I found my E82's DCT to be pretty good), two doors, visibility is nice (based on my M235i seating experience), low end torque is sweet with that N55, and compact size.
I don't know how an M2 rides but I'm sure it handles great. It looks like a pretty balanced car based on what I've watched online. It also sounds sweet but it's nothing like a nice sounding NA engine. It starts at 52K USD and is around 58K "fully loaded." I'm not sure if dealers will mark the hell up out of the car and if current availability would permit getting one any time til the end of the year. IDK how much an M2 costs in Canada though... Among your options, the RS5 appeals to me most especially if it's the (4.2L?) NA V8 one. |
