I see, however, you are on a slippery slope as far as tuning or tweaking somebody else's car considering you have little to no experience with such, especially if you are planning on them paying you. I like your enthusiasm, but step back and take a deep breath man.

Thanks, wasn't sure what code we carry on the 07 323's... given the options it seems well worth it!

Anytime. You are getting way ahead of yourself here, period. I'm not saying that you can't do it, or won't learn to do it well but there's a lot more than reading a manual when it comes to tuning. Hopefully you'll find out that for yourself without damaging anything, or anybody else's stuff. Regardless, I won't discuss it with you any more. Have fun.

Yep, what is great about this is that I can go to a reputable tuner in my area that has a dyno, etc. and pay for a tuning session that is specific to my car.

Jim is swamped right now. I will be having dinner with him sometime this week so he can fill me in on the few things I wasnt quite sure of and from there I will fill you guys in. I have a list of things to ask him (mostly the questions I saw on here). I know most of the answers, but I am going to run them by him first to make sure they are 100% accurate before I explain. He told me this morning he got ASSAULTED with PMs on all these forums, and he needs to buckle down and get this stuff done. |

+1. If this turns out to be as advertised, that's the market for current tuners...forget the hardware, just sell the mapping to people at a reasonable price. Who knows, it might actually help them if they approach it correctly because people will not be limited to one tune (i.e. they can make up for it in volume because people will no longer make such a large investment in one tune that they don't/won't purchase others). Imagine if you could purchase a Vishnu, Helix, and AA tune and switch b/t them depending on your mood.

You have proof of this? People have been saying that about piggybacks forever now. I've always said it was easy JUST based on the adaptations of the car let a lone tell tale codes. Now it's a universal truth with even shiv admitting so.
You so much as look at the ECU code wrong and BMW WILL know.

Ask Jim. He's worlds more knowledgeable than anyone else in the aftermarket when it comes to tuning bmws, so I'll take his word for it. Quite simply, he rewrites the ecu, he doesn't reflash it. This is why flash counts and such do not apply. You can look at Jims post where he bitch slaps Jeff around if you want more info, and feel free to disscuss it with him. He isn't one to hype things up, so I have no problem taking what he says at face value. |
