Anyone thats looking to tackle the DP install themselves should look into this link...Everything you need to DIY....I think I might do it myself, if I ever get my AR DPs delivered to my house...Damn coaters are taking forever, how hard can it be to give the DPs a ceramic coat...

I did mine in my garage on ramps. It is time consuming, but do-able for sure. Just be patient.

I hope so Andrew...I have my car completely apart right now.. waiting for the DPs to come in....Installing DPs is NO JOKE! I thought installing a METH KIT was challenging, this is by far takes the cake...

There's a great DIY on a 135i also (nearly identical I believe). I don't have the link, but can be easily searched. I have used bill's site a LOT, and bought some of his gear when he parted out the 335i.

I am going with the best ones out there ARs IMO, but I am not here to judge if these 188 dollar DPs are any better, thats left to those that buy them! Just waiting to get them coated and sent out to me, while I am waiting I decided to tackle taking out the OEM DPs...

Next steps for me are:

1. Dyno in stock form.

2. Add JB3 and dyno.

3. Install downpipes/fix and dyno with stock map. (will photograph/document install)

4. Dyno with JB3 map.

We will see how it goes...

Cue the questions and additional picture requests.

haven't heard from you since... any progress?

I'm not a weld expert, but why does is inside weld seam sort of bubbled? That may be the wrong word. They really don't look too shabby imo. I wonder how heavy they are compared to RR, AR, MS, etc..

Too much heat. The weld was massively sugared, then ground down/polished out.

Hey, it's not from a lack of trying. The car has been stuck in the paint shop for two weeks. I wanted to slap them on the night they got here, but I couldn't. Also, I want to properly document the gains (or lack there of) so that the haters can either relish in their glory of victory or accept the fact that they are a viable option to $600 downpipes. Either way, I could care less. I simply want an idea of exactly what they provide.
