And don't pay taxes on the contract! If they try to pull that on you, go elsewhere.
Good info and much appreciated!

That's about $780 off of the suggested price, so I think that's pretty good. Someone a couple of pages back got a good quote from Laurel BMW of Westmont. It doesn't hurt to get a 2nd quote.

Just purchased a 6yr/100k Platinum warranty for my 09 335i coupe. I paid $2730 for it, was this a good price?

Thanks!

Is it true that the CPO warranty can be financed @ 0% for roughly $200 more? Who has done this rather than paying 100% up front?

I'm curious about this too. And I'd also like to hear what their final math turns out to be. IE: at $200 more up front, spread out over the life of the warranty = (what actual interest rate?)

I have a 2007 BMW 335i with 62k miles on it that was CPO'ed when I bought it a few years ago. My CPO warranty is running out in about 6 months and was looking into additional warranty coverage. I was quoted at my dealership for 3yrs/42k miles w/$200 deductible for $2463 and 5yrs/60k miles w/$200 dedductible for $3589. Fair deal?

They also offered to finance this with 10% down for 18 months no interest.

Thanks,

You are probably better off looking for another forum thread, or even starting a new one. This one is just for pricing of the "Extended Vehicle Protection" (EVP) standard warranty offered by BMWNA and handled by dealers.

Your quote has many more variables that the EVP pricing, and merits discussion on it's own of the various details, and not just the price.

bringing this up from the dead....
I recently discovered that i am loosing radiator fluid.. so far i have just filled it up but after some research it sounds like it could be the waterpump that caries a 1200+ price tag.
I am now thinking about an extended warranty..
I currently have 47k on 2007 335i

BMW in san mateo CA quoted me $2,080 for 24k/24month (essentially 7y/ 70k Powertrain plus.) $50ded
PowertrainPlus seems to be vary similar in coverage to Powertrain care for Fordasp.
For the same money/ deductible i can get 4y/48k warranty from Ford ESP.. ZEIGLERFORDESP.COM
is there any reason to take BMW over the Ford warranty? Ford seems to get pretty good reviews on here.

Has anyone had any issues when filing a claim or just getting reimbursed for expenses paid under the extended warranty package? Would you recommend going to the dealer for service or an independent shop? Thanks

You would get a lot more responses if you post this as a new thread because this thread is solely about the pricing for the factory EWP plan.

But I'll give you my answer: The BMW EWP is a national plan, (It's handled by BMWNA), and other than the fact that some items are not covered depending on which plan you purchased, any repairs should be handled exactly like in- warranty repairs.

So the process isn't
1) locating a shop that is in the plan,
2) getting work identified as being covered
3) getting it repaired, and paying for what they bill you.
4) filing for reimbursement
5) getting reimbursement

But rather
1) taking it to a dealer
2) getting work identified as being covered
3) getting it repaired without being given a bill

I just got my EWP a few months ago and this is what I was told. But I've not had to use it so far, so can others who have, please confirm?

In response to the post above ^^^^^^^, I have the BMW extended warranty on my '08 335i coupe. I have been out of the factory warranty since last November and have used the extended warranty twice, for a water pump and a windshield washer fluid pump. Each time it was handled easily by BMW Dallas. I had the car towed (for free!) for the water pump. I'm happy with the BMW warranty plan. Oh, but there is a $50 charge for each visit, but it's a nominal fee for the service received.

I bought my 07 335 with 59k miles. I went to the local BMW dealership and purchased their Penske Extended warranty 3yr/36k for $2300. Do you think this is a good deal?

Looking at what others said they were quoted, (for Plat 70k), I saw pricing from $2,200 to 3,800 with an average of 3,185 - but that's from 3 years ago up to last year, so add inflation and price bumps. It looks like your $3,400 is right about average. Do you know what the current "List" price is? You might want to phone back to see just 'how negotiable' his number is.
I called around last month and was always quoted the BMWNA list price, and playing that game I'd reply, "That's the list that everybody is quoting, do you have any discounts or specials?" And they'd always come down $200-300.

Also, from your sig, you have a LOT of mods (congrats!), but many are core stuff. Have you considered how they effect your ability to get past the authorization stage if something major fails? You might just want to keep your money and self-insure.

My dealer quoted $3150 for platinum 3 years 100K miles when MFG warranty expires, this is for a 2009 E82, thinking about getting it plan to keep the car more than 6 years.

Just purchased the 7yr/70K Gold for my 2008 335i for $2540 and I think I was also quoted around $2600 for the 6yr/100K Gold

Went for the 70K miles because my car only has 20K miles on it currently

Greetings All,

I was looking for some recommendations on places to purchase the BMW extended warranty from.

I have had an '09 328 X-Drive for 6 months, that is under warranty until March 2013. Just had a bunch of minor things taken care of at the dealer.

I'm looking for some names of dealers / people to contact and prices paid.

From what I understand the extended maintenance packages aren't really worth it, but if you have any thoughts to offer there I'd love to hear them.

Thanks!
