Question

Shiv, is there a way in incorporating DIC and non-DIC maps together in one map file?
So we can (have option) to enable Map 1 DIC & Map 2 non-DIC?

I prefer the non dic maps on my car. It feels smoother for some reason. I guess each car is different as well as the perception of each person

DIC feels a little better but I honestly love both. I'd suggest DIC though

the incomplete sentence has to do with the 5-10 maps and it seems that it is talking about a problem with the 3-30 maps. so its relevant to this thread

of course Im going to try the maps and if it goes away then great.

Im just curious to what the end of that sentence is. Im the type that likes to know whats going on, and what got changed to make the fix happen.

I have to say these 5-10 maps got rid of my "farting" sound so far and are much smoother and the power seems more linear.

They are at least 28% better than the 3-3- maps and 46% better than the 12-17 maps from what I've experienced so far.
I disagree I think they are about 30% better then 3-30 and 50% better then 12-17

All jokes aside I need to try the Non -DIC I have a feeling I'm going to like it more. we'll see though.

Question for those who tried.

Which feels more responsive for say a 40 roll WOT punch.

DIC or Non DIC?

I don't think DIC responds well to punching??!?!?!

JK, I do like the DIC map better, but it just feels smoother. i wouldn't imagine a differance from a 40 roll IMHO

Installed 5-10 6AT w/ DIC on my 535xi today.

So far so good!

I think I noticed a 2nd surge of power right after about 5,000 RPM.

I'll check it out again and log it if it is confirmed.

The DIC maps will be more responsive. Especially during sudden changes of load (ie, post shift) where it will recover more quickly and pull harder at the onset of boost. Especially in higher gears. Most people will prefer this. There really are no downsides to it. It's a better solution the problem of timing stability. Period.

How high of a gear do I need to be in for a log to be telling? There aren't good places near me to do high speed runs.

Really have been enjoying the 5-10 DIC Maps, On Map 2 the car pulls pretty hard! I notice improvement from 5500-7000 over the 1-21 autotune maps on a little less boost. Im heading to the track Wednesday (South Eastern Michigan) on and will be running race gas. Curious what settings to try on Race gas!

For those that used to get sporadic high rpm misfires have any of you misfired on 5-10?

I got misfire back in December but after the spark plug changed, it all good now. Haven't have issue with the new 5-10 yet but i'll try this weekend.

So far 5-10 is solid. Great drivability.

I used to misfire with 3-30 at high rpms but maybe bc of crappy gas, with 5-10 I lowered boost to 12 and everything its fine. I will raise it to 13.5 tonight to see if she dont misfires again...

do you go into limp mode or SES light come on when shift from 3rd to 4th at 7000rpm?

basically put the car in DS and let it shift from 3rd to 4th on WOT.
